Yep, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
What do I do when winter storm Jonas is making me hunker down with blowing rain and sleet?
Apparently something comes over me and I try more new colors in the sunroom.
Yes, I know you are saying to yourself....didn't she just paint and change this room?
Why yes, yes I did. Of course I didn't paint again, but I may have changed out the accessories.
Out with the blue and in with some pretty neutrals. All found in my stash. Not one single new thing was purchased for this change.
I love being able to change the colors in here now. I brought out my Bosporus toile pillows and mixed in my chocolate checked ones with them. I have had these for years.
This old pillow from the Restoration Hardware outlet takes the center spot.
A little leopard is always a good thing.
More spots on the other side of the room with this faux fur throw.
What's that you say? Oh, yes, I did put the tobacco basket in here after I had an epiphany.
All the lamp needed was a simple switch of the shade from black to neutral.
I love the texture this large piece brings to the room.
Vintage enamelware is filled with dried lavender.
And if you missed how it just looked you can see that here.
So what say ye? Like the neutrals?
Of course it will change again. I have a lot of pillows to play with in here.
I also hope these changes inspire you to try new looks in your own home.
Have a fabulous week!

Well, the weather is certainly a good thing to blame it on!....So wonderful to have a neutral pallet so that you can change things up whenever you want... Love the brown tones and the tobacco basket looks great on the chest!....
ReplyDeleteYes, it is and I'm sticking to it! Ha
DeleteYou are too funny! We probably had more snow here in our area, but really only hunkered down one day. I cleaned/organized drawers/cabinets! We were out and about the next day. Not sure I would put the basket in front of the windows, but hey, if you like it, it works! Do you never open the blinds?
ReplyDeleteThe baskets have been there for quite some time. Not much sun in that spot. The blinds are only on one side of the room where the sun pours in in the afternoon. No, they stay shut. To hard to get to to raise and lower.
DeleteI was referring to the tobacco basket, not the chest baskets. :)
DeleteOh, that one. I wasn't even thinking about the tobacco basket. I always have art there on that chest since I have no walls for art to hang on.
DeleteI love this look Kim. But then I love all your "looks". I'm still partial to the red check curtains but I suspect we will see them again at some point. This room is so adaptable to almost any color. Being able to change it up with the seasons is so fun. Maybe you could do a look of the week for a whole month :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteIt looks great, but it always does. I'm envious of your "stash"!!
ReplyDeleteThanks. The stash is becoming more a problem that needs to be tackled!
DeleteI have always loved your Bosporus toile pillows. The tobacco basket it a great textural touch!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Penny!
DeleteSweet changes, Kim! Since I love toile, I am drawn to the pillows! The weather is crazy, very warm with birds chirping this morning!
ReplyDeleteYep, cold, warm then cold again. Thanks, Pam
DeleteThe blue was nice and cozy, but this neutral look has a very calm and relaxed look to it. I have loved all of your sunroom changes and it's always fun to see how you mix it up. I am slowly changing my wall colors to neutral, and am just loving the ease of decorating those spaces.
ReplyDeleteThanks and I am loving the neutral backdrop for those changes now. You will love the ease of going neutral.
DeletePerfect color scheme to ride out the rest of this winter (er, or at least this week, maybe? :D) -- so calm and cozy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cyndy. Yes, wait and see when something comes over me again. :)
DeleteLove it...your need for change. I'm right there with you!
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you with me, Cheryl Ann!
DeleteLove the neutrals, they are so pretty and look so inviting.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marty!
DeleteLove the changes! I think I want to go with a lighter neautra in some of my rooms so I can easily change things out the way you do. I love change too. I'm craving some spring changes right now.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the change and the ability to change my accessories so easily. Thanks!
DeleteAs always just beautiful.... blaming it on the weather...hmmm and does Mr. Savvy buy that one?? lol Have a wonderful day! Blessings from Sunny, today, French Gulch California! Curtis & Sherrie.
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't even noticed any changes. He doesn't have a clue!
DeleteAmazing, Kim! Love the changes!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathy!
DeleteKim, where did you get the ottoman/coffee table? Love the oval, and love the neutral colors.
ReplyDeleteBeverly, I got that on Joss & Main a good while back. Thanks
DeleteI love everything about this room and the neutrals. I'm looking for that exact couch - same shape and slips. Can you tell me where you got yours?
ReplyDeleteBarb
Thanks, Barb. I answered this by email, but for others who may want to know the sofa is the Pottery Barn basic and I have had it for many years.
DeleteLove this look...I too am going neutral...with pops of color. I love your tobacco basket...I've been looking for a large one...within my budget, for several years.
ReplyDeleteMindy, I lucked up on a good deal on that one. Thanks
DeleteIt's beautiful, as anything you touch is, but I still miss some color in the sun room because it's such a light and bright space.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I need calm these days, Brenda and I'm loving the changes. I am over the busy and red right now.
DeleteAt first I thought your checked pillows were a burgundy...but I'm so glad they were a chocolate brown because I just ordered a fabric swatch from Country Curtains in the brown Buffalo check! I do love all the neutrals in this room, but I love the red too:)
ReplyDeleteYes, chocolate they are. I got mine from Ballards years ago, but they still carry this fabric I think.
DeleteLooks wonderful! I think we should start a new decorating trend called "stash" decor. I am getting ready to do some stash decorating soon too! Ha! Lose its! Sheila
ReplyDeleteYes, we should Sheila!
DeleteLove the new neutral color palette, It looks really good wight your Farmhouse sign hung above your window! You are having so much fun in this yucky weather, aren't you? :)
ReplyDeleteBest thing to do when it's bad outside. Thanks!
DeleteAbsolutely my favorite ! I've shared some of my stash with our daughter and her young family, so now I'm like hmm can't do that 'cause it's shared. But get such joy from seeing their excitement of seeing their space evolve..^stash^ is wonderful ! Neutrals are the grounding element for every good design. Bravo,!
ReplyDeleteI have tried to share some things, but most gets hauled off to GoodWill.
DeleteI have tried to share some things, but most gets hauled off to GoodWill.
DeleteBut what treasures are stored in those baskets !
DeleteThose baskets are empty, Joyce.
DeleteKim, I'm always crazy at your changes, I love them!! With a palette of soothing neutrals like yours and in your great space, simply elegant!
ReplyDeleteNancy
Thanks Nancy!
DeleteI love this room Kim. Such a peaceful, light farmhouse feeling! I think you nailed it! :) ~julie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Julie and I love your real farmhouse.
DeleteToo bland for me;the red rocked my world. But I see your point, the neutrals make it possible to have a chameleon sunroom. Presto-changeo!
ReplyDeleteSorry the red has left for now in this room.
DeleteI'm in love with those pillows.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I have had them for years.
Deletelooks amazing! i love it. i wish i had your energy to change out rooms as quickly & efficiently. i love the throw pillows you integrated. and that tobacco basket goes w/o saying. love it all. xo- maryjo
ReplyDeleteNo energy needed for this. It was just changing out the pillows and a lampshade. Less than ten minutes tops!
DeleteWhy yes I do love the neutrals. But seriously Kim, you know how much I LOVE your sunroom!Any colors any changes are always beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anne!
DeleteDon't you just love when epiphanies strike? Most of mine hit me in the shower! The tobacco basket is perfect in the sun room. This is a great illustration of the flexibility of a neutral color scheme!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, Jane I do.
Deletewow, so beautiful! I'm loving the neutrals - but then I think any color would look fab in this room with all that lovely natural light! Your photos are just fabulous - wish mine looked like this! thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThank you about the room and my photography. It is with practice that it gets better. I am self taught and just figure it out as I go.
DeleteIt's always fun to have a beautiful home like yours to play in when the weather outside is nasty!
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely in neutrals!
Mary Alice
Thanks, Mary Alice!
DeleteThe room was beautiful before and it is still beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWell Kim, you don't need to ask me if I like the neutrals? I love them...
ReplyDeleteI find this room so peaceful with a grace of French farmhouse elegance.
Love the stacked baskets, and the mix of textiles you used, all working together seamlessly, not one piece fighting for attention in this room.
I kind of hope you don't bore of this look for awhile and keep it around for us to enjoy a bit longer.
Enjoy your winter days, with spring soon enough .
Your year around neutrals inspire.
Xx

How you continually change things is amazing. Every now and then I tweak a thing or two, but redoing usually involves moving things around.
ReplyDeleteLoving the soft neutrals and the animal print. Plus that tobacco basket! I have one in my dining room and if I didn't restrain myself, I would have one in every room! lol
ReplyDeleteYou are such an inspiration, and a master at redecorating! Such a great eye for design and color!!
ReplyDeleteYour sunroom is sooooooo gorgeous!!! I love that combination of pillows on the sofa and I am swooning over the stacked baskets too!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!!!
~Des
Are your walls and ceiling beadboard? I just love them and would love to do mine that way to make it feel more "country". We built and moved into our house 4 years ago but already see things I would love to change.
ReplyDeleteYes it is tongue and groove bead board my husband installed when we added this room on many years ago.
DeleteThe neutrals are a winner! Looks serene and peaceful!
ReplyDeleteYou really have an amazing stash Kim. I need to come shopping in your house! Love the neutrals and I so admire your talent!
ReplyDeleteShelley
So pretty Kim! I love all the accessories in this room...A perfect room to sit and sip coffee.
ReplyDeleteI love neutrals of course, but I love your room this way. So beautiful, warm, and inviting. Love every element!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! So fresh and fabulous, Kim. And calm! And that large basket looks so graphic with this neutral scheme. I'm a fan :)
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous, Kim! I love you neutral sun room. Oh, you can decorate!!! I'm also so happy to see that Miss Bailey is home. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! Can you tell me about the fabric and color of your PB sofa. I'm about to order one, but I don't want to go too light, but want to stay neutral and yours looks perfect.
