Do you watch Fixer Upper on HGTV? If you don't then I think you might be living under a rock. Just saying. I think I have watched the old reruns hundreds of times. Well, maybe not hundreds, but a lot! The vision that Joanna Gaines comes up with for these old homes just blows my mind. This one that aired last week is my favorite so far. I think because it is more traditional and a bit different from past fixer uppers.
Fabulous curb appeal! Of course you have to see the before to appreciate the after.
I mean just look at the before and then scroll back to the after. I just love it!
Then you step inside and there is no wow factor in the before.
The after is like WOWSERS! Look at the stair rail that Joanna designed. I would have never thought of that. Love the industrial vibe, but the thing I really like in this space is the bench.
I mean just look at it. It's old and slatted and perfect.
Gorgeous dining room with more industrial style added with the chairs and the metal legs on the table.
Much better than this.
I love how the living room was turned into a masculine space for the man of the house.
Love the photo art on the wall in the large size. It makes such a statement.
Then there is the heart of the home! I love this light filled kitchen. I love the windows on each side of the stove, the perfect lights and those industrial stools.
Okay, I'm through drooling. You can see more here or wait for the reruns. In fact there is a Fixer Upper marathon running this morning.
I love watching these shows and getting all kinds of ideas. Now, if I could just talk Mr. Savvy into some shiplap somewhere.
Which episode is your favorite so far?
Enjoy your Sunday!

I watch past episodes of Fixer Upper on Netflix. Maybe I'll have yet another look today.:-)
ReplyDeleteI loved the after of this one! Wow!
Pat, we don't use Netflix, but I think this one will air again Tuesday before the new one.
DeleteI love them all but I especially love the bed and breakfast .
ReplyDeleteCharlotte, I loved that, too and I found more info that it is actually a whole house rental and not a bed & breakfast. I would love to rent it and go visit the Silos.
Deletedefinite Wow!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Yes, it sure is!
DeleteIt's so hard to pick they are all so pretty! I love this one!! I am going to add shiplap over the mantle soon! Have a nice day!!
ReplyDeleteOh, lucky you, Susan. That will be perfect in your farm house.
DeleteIt was a good one. The outside of the last one was my favorite transformation. The stair railing is cool. I have an inspiration pic of something similar I want to do to ours but made out of wood. Staircases are so expensive to remodel though.
ReplyDeleteI know, Pamela, they are so expensive. I would love to redo ours.
DeleteI haven't watch this episode yet but have dvr'd it to watch today. Every thing Joanna does is my favorite. I watch another show that does tours of very high end homes, I'll take Joanna's designs over them any day.
ReplyDeleteI prefer these, too and Chip and Joanna's personalities add to the show.
DeleteLove this one too...love the painted brick...and I also loved the previous Fixer Upper that had that "scchmeeer" technique over the brick....
ReplyDeleteOH, yes, I loved what they did to that brick on that one....German Smear.
DeleteI couldn't pick a favorite if my life depended on it! I love everything she does!!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard!
DeleteI think a blogger road trip to Magnolias is needed! I haven't seen this episode but I will make a point to see it. I love everything she does!
ReplyDeleteOh, Jane, wouldn't that be fun. We can rent the rental house they made over and drive to the Silos!!
DeleteThis was mine too. The only thing that I was on the fence about was the stair way railing, but I am always the last to jump aboard something new.... but the rest of that house? OH. MY. Goodness!!!
ReplyDeleteI was shocked at how industrial it was, but it adds a wow factor.
DeleteIt is amazing to me how just painting the brick on an older house changes everything! Fixer Upper is by far my favorite HGTV show!!
ReplyDeleteThey really upped it on this exterior!
DeleteMy favorite HGTV show. My favorite is the one that had the solarium in the middle of the house. This show makes me want to move to Waco and buy a house from them.
ReplyDeleteYes, me, too Linda!
DeleteI am obsessed with that show! Not only are they adorable but I love all her designs. This episode is one of my favorites and I also remember loving the french country one from I think season one.
ReplyDeleteShelley
Yes, I loved that one, too. Heck I love most of them.
DeleteI think every new episode I watch of Fixer Upper I say, "This is my favorite!" I agree, the outside of this one wins the prize for best transformation, though. (I'm crazy about the new show, Home Town, too, and hope to see more of it.)
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Laurel. I sure hope that show gets picked up. Maybe we can start a petition!
DeleteMe too..I love watching the shows. They are such a sweet family! And their work is so special. I like the concept of taking older homes and breathing new life into them....instead of bulldozing. The designs are so unique!
ReplyDeleteI loved this episode too! It's amazing what they can do!
ReplyDeleteThis was an amazing transformation - I loved everything!! My husband wants to fly them to CT to have them do over our entire home, he really loves Joanna's design sense when it comes to opening up spaces. Unfortunately, what the Gaines can accomplish on a $75,000 budget in Waco, would have to be quadrupled in my area of CT.- construction prices are ridiculous here!!!
ReplyDeleteI just love this show. They do awesome work.
ReplyDeleteThe exterior of this home took my breath away. I think it's amazing. The inside, not as much. Of course, my taste run more to traditional and the industrial looks feel cold to me and not in keeping with the style of the house. But so what...the buyers loved it and that's the only thing that matters.
ReplyDeleteI live under a rock! ;) Of course, I have heard of the show, but can you believe I have never seen an episode? I am just not a big tv girl. I have to say though, that the exterior transformation of this house is just outstanding...and I am sure very pricey!
ReplyDeleteKim, you might not be a big tv girl, but you should dvr this show & take a look (you can fast forward through ads & the silly bits or other parts that don't interest you). I think it's a show that's worth your time - especially if you like Kim's Savvy Southern Style blog. And Joanna Gaines has a blog, too, that's worth a look
DeleteYour post on Fixer Upper really made my day. I can't get enough of the homes they recreate. thanks.
ReplyDeleteKim, I missed this episode but I love everything they touch.
ReplyDeleteWife and I watch the reruns too. Hard to believe the all the work they do - and with four kids! I might build the bench shown beneath the stairway.
ReplyDeleteI love this show. The house that they turned into a whole house rental was rejected by a couple on another episode. I was so disappointed b/c I really wanted to see what Joanna and Chip would do with that house. Then... WHAM..... they bought the house and created the rental and I was thrilled. I would love to stay there.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen this show, but I promise I don't live under a rock:D LOL! I will say they made some pretty amazing upgrades though. The kitchen was very light and airy...turned out beautiful!
ReplyDeletethis was a favorite of mine too, especially the exterior. I like how she has been updating the stair rails lately. hmmmm...i am looking at mine right now and thinking.
ReplyDeleteApparently I live under a rock! I know who they are and I've visited her blog and shop website, but have never watched the show. I don't watch much tv.
ReplyDeleteIt's like it's not the same house anymore!
ReplyDeleteSo loved how this house turned out. And, the sweet couple is the brother and SIL of one of my youngest's friends and classmates from BU. We were so excited for them.
ReplyDeleteOh I love Fixer Upper too and all Joanna's designs. I love that she's so in love with her children. You can tell they're big family people. I loved in the last(I think)show when she was telling the children bye so she could decorate and her smallest girl put her little hand up and said "bless you" and Joanna said "no, bless you" and her little girl said it again all serious like. Apparently real estate is very cheap in Waco compared to Atlanta. I would love for Joanna to decorate my house. Dream on, Barbara.
ReplyDeleteI am sooooo excited!!! We are spending this month in Austin, Texas and will be taking a road trip to Waco and Magnolia Market later this week. What blogger could visit Texas without planning a pilgrimage to Waco and Magnolia?
ReplyDeleteI love the one when they did Clint's house. He is a great artist too. And very real people. I follow them on IG too. If anyone follows Flip or Flop they flip houses in my area California. But homes are so much here.
ReplyDeleteSo I'll stick with Chip and JoJo any day and dream.
It is hard for me to pick a favorite episode os Fixer Upper!! I ALWAYS end up like the owners, with my jaw dropping at the reveal!!! She is amazing, and no formal training!!! I watch the reruns all the time too:)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fan of Fixer Upper and I had just seen this episode last night. I absolutely loved the changes on the outside except for the front door which I thought was too rustic for the look of the rest of the house. The kitchen turned out breathtaking, but, again, I did not care for what was done in the living room - ended up looking like a family room in mountain retreat. And, that staircase, I liked the design just not for that home. I guess the younger generation who bought the house wanted an eclectic mix! (He was from Colorado, I think, and wanted a certain feel to the design) And, I agree, a lot of what was done seemed to be a departure from what Joanna usually does. She has been mixing it up somewhat this season, what a talent!
ReplyDeleteOh, I think the front doors make the front of this house. I would love those on my house.
DeleteLoved this episode too Kim, I just used the same lights in our kitchen reno. I've linked this post to my lighting reno post. :) Hope you are having a great weekend.
