When I went out to lunch with my mom and sister last Thursday we stopped at our favorite antique store and did some shopping. I think I'm the only person who bought anything and as you look at what came home with me I will explain our day with some strange weather.
The day started sunny and chilly, but the forecast was a high of 59 and rain late in the afternoon and evening. Perfect day for lunch and shopping.....so we thought.
Before my mom and I ever got to my sister's house it had gotten quite cloudy and dark as if it would rain any minute. So after looking at my sister's new furniture, appliances, and new kitchen back splash we headed to lunch.
While we were having lunch in the cutest little restaurant in Alpharetta called Mitties Cafe on Main, for you locals, it started raining and the temperature was staying cold.
After lunch we went shopping at the local antique mall The Queen Of Hearts which is my favorite to check out. While shopping my sister starts getting texts from her hubby telling her that it is snowing and sleeting where she lives and other surrounding areas. What??? Snow?? No, way!!
Of course the roads were too warm for problems, but we headed on home just in case. My mom was getting nervous about the roads. After my mom and I left my sister's we did see an area close to her on our way home that had gotten quite a bit of snow. It was like a winter wonderland in a short amount of time.
This wasn't forecasted and was such a fluke.
We had a good day together though spite the weather.
After I got home Mr. Savvy told me I missed the prettiest snowfall with huge flakes. Our area was not white so it had melted and it was just raining.
Above are my finds.
I got a great buy on the vintage bamboo bed tray and the bunnies will come in handy this spring. Of course I had to have the little cow creamer. It was only $4. It is much shorter than the normal creamer.
Have a great day and see y'all back tonight for Wow Us Wednesdays at 7 et.

Loving the bed tray and creamer! :)
ReplyDeleteToo funny. I was speaking with an acquaintance last night about the antique shows he sells in and one of the cities/towns he mentioned was Alpharetta! Hubby and I have been lucky on some of our antiquing trips lately! He more so than I. LOL That always seems to happen.
ReplyDeleteI heard you had such a crazy weather event that day....made the news....Love the bamboo tray, bunny and creamer....you always find treasures!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet that the three of you got together & had a great time. Nice bamboo bed tray! Where is Alpharetta? I'll Google...
ReplyDeleteMetro Atlanta area.
DeleteGreat bed tray which can have many fun uses. The weather seems to be crazy everywhere, but were enjoying spring for a few days this week.

Kim, we experienced that weather in northeast Alabama on Thursday morning and it happened quick! I love the bamboo tray! Have a wonderful Tuesday! Pam @ Everyday Living
ReplyDeleteGeez, I have been SEARCHING for a bed tray and this BAMBOO one would be SO perfect. It is beautiful! Looks like it is in great shape too. Love the bunnies, I love all bunnies:) have a great day, it is WARM and BEAUTIFUL here and me and some GF's are going out to lunch. MAY be able to sit outside!!!
ReplyDeleteThe creamer is too cute!
ReplyDeleteFun finds!
ReplyDeleteHere in Texas we are having crazy weather also, but no snow that I know of . Looks like you scored with your finds. The bunny is too cute. Be Safe.
ReplyDeleteLove all of your finds! That does sound like some crazy weather!
ReplyDeleteCool finds, Kim! Gorgeous tray. The weather lately has been crazy. And luckily we are enjoying temps in the 70s this week.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. Which city is Queen of Hearts? There's several. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI went to the one in Alpharetta.
DeleteYes, I know they have more locations. I shop the one in Buford, too since I live here. I don't care for the booths at Buford as much as the Alpharetta store.
DeleteGreat, Alpharetta is a tad closer to Villa Rica. Thank you.
DeleteSeems the weather can't make up its mind this year...
ReplyDeleteBrenda
FYI-The Queen of Hearts has other locations in the Metro Atlanta area besides just Alpharetta and they all have different merchandise. I feel like the one near the Mall of Georgia has much better prices than Alpharetta.
ReplyDeleteWeather...In 30 minutes last Thursday I had 5" of sleet on the windshield of my car while at my mom's long term care facility in Snellville...I live in Loganville. The metro area could of been in a "world of hurt" several times this season if the temperatures had dropped. I'm glad Spring appears to have sprung around town.
I want bunnies like those for MY garden! I think the weather is crazy just about everywhere. This week here in mid-Michigan we are having 60 and 70 degree weather after freezing temps last week. I'm not complaining, tho'. I'm so ready for warm weather!
ReplyDeleteComing to North Cobb area for one day, what would be five or six antique or vintage type stores you could suggest for us?
ReplyDeleteLucy, I truly don't know since I'm not near that area and don't shop there. Sorry.
DeleteLucy,
DeleteTry http://www.queenofheartsantiques-interiors.com/directions-one in Marietta, downtown Marietta at the square, Woodstock Market off I-75 (across the street is another antique mall but I do not know the name.)
Do a google search and see if you will be near any of these in Cobb County. Happy Shopping!
Love that bunny!
ReplyDeleteI love your tray!! The bunny is so cute!!Love it.

I'm a huge bunny fan, and the tray and creamer are great finds, too. Well done. A bit of snow, eh? Always fun when it's not the norm in a region...we get plenty here in upstate NY, but glad to say we've had hardly any this winter. We're expecting a very uncommon high of 70F today, before the temps return to a more normal mid-40s-50. I expect it'll be almost as nice as GA! Spring is certainly coming!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, I love the tray the bunny and the creamer! Sorry to hear about the crazy weather. Glad you could enjoy some shopping and lunch with your mom and sister despite the weather!
ReplyDeleteYour finds are nice--I love a cow creamer. I got one last week, too. The snow sounds lovely.
