I share photos of my home in the daylight, but what about at night by lamplight? I actually love the evenings when the lamps are on. At night the colors change to more of a golden color and shadows and reflections are created. As soon as it starts getting darker in the house I go around and turn on all the lamps on the first floor. They are all fitted with LED bulbs so I don't worry about running up the power bill.
At dusk the lamps go on.
At dusk the lamps go on.
Now it is totally dark out.
At dusk....just a bit of light still coming in.
Just ignore Mr. Savvy's legs. Of course he is in his recliner.
See the blue hour outside?
Our bedroom which I haven't shared in awhile. This is where the pastoral painted landed when I got the new mirror over the fireplace.
Bed turned back.
This is what's at the end of the bed when I pull the covers back. Mr. Savvy needs the bench blocked so he doesn't hurt himself if he bumps into at night if he gets up.
Hope you enjoyed seeing my house by lamplight.

Your home is both beautiful in the daylight and by "lamplight"..... Love how you captured the house at night. So warm and cozy! Great to party with you today!!! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks my friend!
DeleteThey've really made improvements with LEDs so they give a warmer light. Very lovely pictures. Soon, the lamps will be ignored as we stay outside with long summer nights.
ReplyDeleteYes, they sure have. I could not stand the spiral shaped bulbs light. So glad they came out with much better ones. I like the Cree bulbs the best.
DeleteYour home has a warmth to it both during the day AND at night with so many well thought out details! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you Janet!
DeleteI love seeing your home with the glow of the lights at night! So cozy and inviting!
ReplyDeleteShelley
Thanks Shelley. I actually prefer it with the lamps on.
DeleteSo homey and cozy. I love lamplight in the evenings. I put most of my lamps on timers so they automatically come on around dusk. Just have to adjust the timers as the daylight lengthens or shortens.
ReplyDeleteI should do that some time. I don't mind walking around and turning them on and off though.
DeleteWhat a warn and inviting way to show your home, Kim! Just beautiful!! I love the soft glow of the lamplight and it reveals just how lovely your home is at any time of day... :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lory!

DeleteHi Kim, I love the pictures of your lamps on at night. I always have lights on at night to give a cozy feel to the rooms. As much as you change it, it is always beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne!

ReplyDeleteOh, aren't you sweet! Thanks!!
DeleteYour house is just beautiful.. I love the with the blue in the top window. Very nice I enjoyed the lights. Have a wonderful day with love Janice
ReplyDeleteOh, Kim, I didn't think you could make me like your home any more than I do,but you did. It made me wish I was ringing your doorbell to visit. I know I would have to run my hand along the entry table as I walked by, and take every piece of eye candy in. Your home exudes warmth and a gentle welcoming spirit. I love the beauty of shadows being cast by your pretty lamps. My favorite is the ceiling in your bedroom. The shadows cast above the lovely chandelier over your bed is enchanting. Everything is beautiful. Thank you for our enchanted evening tour by the lamplight. I enjoyed it immensely!
ReplyDeleteP.S.
ReplyDeleteWould you show us the rest of the house by lamplight sometime? The sunroom, dining, etc.😉
WOW...KIM, SO LOVELY.
ReplyDeleteI love the warmth and glow! Your home is beautiful day and night, Kim. From your fan in DC :)

Hi Kim, I noticed you moved your new chair to the sitting room. What took its place? Love all the lamplight.
ReplyDeleteTricia
No that chair was never in the great room because it was too small.
DeleteI totally agree about lamplight! I hate overhead lighting anywhere except the kitchen where it's necessary...I have lamps there too! Your home is so inviting, thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, what a great idea, it shows a totally different side of a home at night and one we don't often see, it all look so inviting and welcoming, I think I would be in the recliner too! I am a firm believer that lighting can make all the difference to a room, I love lots and lots of lamps, our sitting room has five, all strategically placed, none too bright, but each plays an important role. We are still struggling to find a light for one end of our eat-in kitchen and it's proving a huge problem!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks very cozy at night...
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, I love the look of lamplight too. The shadows cast by your lamps is so pretty, especially the antlers on the deer and the ceiling in the master. Loved this series.
ReplyDeletegorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy the ambiance created with lighting in a room. Your home looks warm and inviting.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so pretty lit at night. I love lamp light at night too. I tend to only turn on lamps in the rooms that we're using though unless I have company.
ReplyDeleteLovely, Kim. I like the soft glow of lamps in a room, even in the daylight. We keep lamps on 24/7 in some rooms. That way when one of us gets up in the middle of the night the path is lit. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous....I'm a huge fan of accent lighting and also go around turning on lamps at dusk!
ReplyDeleteYour house looks lovely at night as well as in the daytime.
ReplyDeleteKim, Your company musts never want to leave when they're invited! There is definitely a different ambiance in the evenings. I love your lamps you have in your bedroom. Mind sharing where they're from?
ReplyDeleteDon't you think lampshades are super important? Shapes, textures - you really notice them at night. Linen is my favorite! Yours are really pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Kim- love the lamp light tour!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Kim...by the soft glow of lamplight or by daylight!
