When I moved the vintage Ethan Allen brass sconces from the dining room to the great room I was left with two empty spots to fill on each side of the hutch. I have wanted these sconces from Ballard's ever since they came out, but the price was holding me back. Just so happens that when I looked them up again they were on sale plus free shipping. That saved me a good bit of money so I bit the bullet and ordered them. The timing on that sale could not have been more perfect. Don't you love when that happens?
These look so much like antique sconces from France or Italy that can cost way more than these knock offs.
I love the chipping patina on them.
Perfect amount of gold and the arms really look old.
The tassels and the candle holders were very gold and a little too flashy for me so I just brushed some gray chalk paint on to knock that down some.
Love those Sconces....like you, I've been in love with them for awhile! They look fabulous in your dining room!

ReplyDeleteI just realized from these pix, that your new curtains match your chair fabric and pillows. BTW I had a shower curtain made by Ann in the lighter shade of the buffalo check.

I love the new sconces... they go well with everything in the room! Also, I have been trying to find on your website about how you painted your hutch here with the pretty blues but cannot find it. Could you send me a link with the post about it? (I could've sworn you wrote one, but maybe not!)

Angelina, I don't really have a tutorial for that. I just started grabbing paints and went to work on it without taking photos of each step. It's been years and I don't really remember what all I even used. Thanks
