Spring is the perfect time to get new carpet because it forces you to do your spring cleaning that you might have been putting off. I'm loving the new carpet and that the upstairs is nice and clean except for the bonus room that I will tackle bit by bit.
I left you with this progress pic last time. We decided to leave the very bottom step uncovered so it needed some work.
Mr. Savvy did a great job of trimming out the bottom stair and staining it. Then I had to paint all the white again.
The old carpet was in fair shape for being twenty years old, but upstairs it had been pet peed on from past pets, not Bailey, and there may have been some teens partying here years ago while we were out of town and they just might have gotten sick on my carpet! So I am glad that stained carpet is gone.
I have never seen so much dust and grit go e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e when they pulled up the old carpet. I am still finding stuff to clean up.
Instead of tucking the edge of the carpet under and stapling it our carpet guy took the carpet for the stairs and had the edge seamed.
I put this together to show the how much lighter the new carpet is. The left is the master and I chose the same carpet we had in there since it has worn well for three years.
Here is a peek of the same guest room. It's so much lighter and brighter with the new carpet.
The carpet is by Mohawk in their wear-dated line and the color is ironstone. I love me some ironstone.
This is not a sponsored post. Just sharing since I get asked all the time when I share the master.
Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!

What a unique and fabulous way to install the carpet on your stairs. I love the bottom step being wood. That seems to be the step that shows the dirt too! Perfect! I'm not a fan of carpet but I have it in the bedrooms. Our master is similar to your new one except its worn and I can't keep it clean. Maybe time to replace. You've inspired me.
ReplyDeleteWe used to have carpet in our house and I remember the dust and stuff that had settled down in the backing of the carpet. And I am a pretty good house-keeper! No more carpet for us, I don't think I could go back. The bottom step looks great and I like the patterned/lighter color. We are in the process of becoming landlords (LOL) and have pulled up all the carpet in a house. The den has to have carpet due to not trying to match the adjoining wood floors and I choose a textured carpet. I hope it wears well!
ReplyDeleteI love this carpet. Looks wonderful on the stairs!
ReplyDeleteLooks so nice! The light color and texture is beautiful. And really like the stairs and landing. Bet you're thrilled!!
ReplyDeleteI love the texture and pattern of the carpet you chose Kim.

ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful Kim and Mr. Savvy did a great job on the stair...remind me to tell you a story about a "last stained stair".....Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the new carpet. It really brightens the room. And what your installer did on your stairs is lovely. I had all the carpet removed on the stairs too and only have it in the bedrooms but your stairs are really unique now.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pattern on the carpet! Thanks for sharing just what it is, since we are probably going to replace carpet in our offices. This is exactly what I was thinking of. It looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou always inspire me Kim...nice work!

ReplyDeleteI love how they finished the carpet on your stairs. You and Mr. Savvy have been busy! What a great spring refresh!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful pattern and color, it looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteLove how your new carpet looks on your stairs and rooms. Thanks for the information on name, etc. as we will be replacing carpet in 3 rooms in the near future and I like how this looks.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh about your story of the teenage parties....I had a couple of kids that might have snuck in a party of two myself (LOL)!
Have a great weekend Kim!

ReplyDeleteHow nice to have fresh new carpet. Our home is all wood floors, so no wall to wall carpet.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful carpet!
It looks awesome Kim! Love the lighter color and the texture is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLove your new carpet - and it is very interesting how you did the stairs.
ReplyDeleteI so need to replace my stairs, loft and all bedrooms upstairs carpet. Really, like yesterday. No barf or pee stains, but just so blecky.
Kim,
ReplyDeleteYour new carpet is beautiful, both the color and the texture. I like carpet in the bedroom because I don't like putting my bare feet on a cold bare floor in the winter. Brrrr!
Judith
Beautiful carpet! It's amazing the difference, isn't it? I love the seamed edge on the stairs..a great idea.
ReplyDeleteHooray for new carpet! I know you're happy to have that replaced. I dread getting ours done because of the mess. But it will be nice to have fresh carpet.
ReplyDeleteI love this carpet, Kim! The pattern in the the light color is so interesting! You must clean all the time. Even with just Bobby and me, very light carpet would get dirty quick. Do you have a trick for cleaning it? Looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteYvonne, I just vacuum regularly. That is the main way to keep carpet clean.
DeleteThanks
I have admired this carpet since you had it installed in your master. It looks lovely in the rest of your home. Would you mind sharing the manufacturer, style and color?
ReplyDeleteI shared the info at the bottom of the post. Thanks
DeleteWow! The new carpet looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour new carpet is stunning! Love, love, love the square design to it!
ReplyDeleteI adore your new carpet, Kim. Love the color and texture! Hope you've had a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour new carpet is beautiful! I love the idea of leaving the first step showing the wood and carpeting the rest!
ReplyDeleteI love, love your carpet. I see it is from Mohawk, Wear Dated line, but do you happen to know the style name?
ReplyDeleteBecky, no I don't as they seem to keep changing the name of it. Just go to their website and look through it and you should find one like it.
