I like to change things often, as you know if you have been following me for any length of time, and I like to paint things. I had recently painted one of my lidded baskets a green color, but it was just a little too blah for me so I did a very quick and easy update to it.
This is the way it looked after I painted it green and I added a letter and number on it free hand that really wasn't looking all that great.
A simple white stripe is all it needed.
All I had to do was grab my frog tape and tape off where I wanted the stripe.
Then I grabbed my can of trim paint that we use in our house which is Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore. I painted two coats of the white and then pulled the tape off and voila!
Simple, clean and looks better than it did before.
So, like I always say if you don't like it just paint it again!
It's only paint.
Oh, gotta go I see another piece that needs to be painted!!

DeleteLove when a little change adds so much... Now as for me I would be getting that sander out and distress it a bit, perhaps add a grey painted number N0. :)
ReplyDeleteAlways inspiring here.

ReplyDeleteYou have that innate ability to just know what something needs! It's a gift! (Need to go put a 2nd layer of paint on something myself! )
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane! Now go finish that painting!!
DeleteI can't believe how much better it looks just adding the stripe! I am guessing the basket is not an antique since you painted it/
ReplyDeleteYep, it's an antique fishing basket, but sometimes antiques need updating.
DeleteI love that ! I have something similar that I'm going to try that on.
ReplyDeleteOh, good. Glad I gave you an idea to use!
DeleteI love it all, from the newly painted basket to the bedding and çow picture. It looks wonderful
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra!
DeleteLuv the white stripe!! Like you I always say, it's only paint... it can be renewed with another coat. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteI worked on an art piece today and played musical tables. Painted 2 lamps. I was channeling my inner Kim :)
Soo soo cute Kim!! I love that basket!
ReplyDeleteI have some similar nesting baskets that need an update. Pinned this to remind me I can give them that update with paint!
ReplyDeleteI have just painted a couple of my baskets and was thinking about adding the numbers to them, hoping that I can stencil them on. I love the stripe on yours! PInning this to my crafty board to remind me when I have a taller basket to paint!
