Wow, y'all, I think I will start asking you questions more often. I asked you to chime in with your choice of the mirror or cow painting in the guestroom and had a ton of responses.
This was the clear winner.......but
then I remembered this painting in my stash.
She's cute, right? Perfect colors and good size.

Oh, and I put the quilted white euro shams back.
So yes, I know I'm crazy, but I hope y'all stick around. M kay?
Wishing everyone a very Happy Mother's Day weekend!
I always get asked about the bed skirt and the blue shams. The bed skirt is by French Laundry Home and purchased on Joss & Main years ago. The shams were purchased on etsy a few years ago.
Thanks

I bought this from an artist on etsy years ago. I liked the quirkiness of it.

Love the sweet cow!
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny!
DeleteThe cow looks great in that spot. You certainly have quite the stash. Can I come shopping at your house?... Happy Mother's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteShelley
Thanks Shelley. Come on over!
DeleteLeave the first cow. The softer colors are much better.
ReplyDeleteSorry Tina.
DeleteNot that it matters but I agree with Tina :-) Have a great Mother's day!
DeleteNo reason to be sorry - it's your home - you should do what YOU like!
DeleteI agree with Tina... but... it's not my house! And.. knowing how you like to switcheroo, this sweet cow won't be there long, anyway.... haha... If you ever feel like giving your first cow to a good home... I have an empty wall in my entry calling her name. Happy Mother's Day to all.
DeleteWill you use both cows in that room? If not, what happens to the other cow????
ReplyDelete;)
No, not using both. I'm not sure what I'm doing with the large painting. I really don't like the cheap shiny finish on it that y'all don't see in my photos.
DeleteVery pretty! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you Sally!
DeleteThey both look great but I do love the softer colors of the first one...however, I know that seeing it in person does make a difference, etc. on how it truly looks in the room. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes, truly a difference in person. Don't care for the cheap looking sheen on the large one.
DeleteCannot see that sheen, so in that case...the other is beautiful....and I do like the darker tones complimenting the bed skirt.
DeleteI prefer the colors in the first one, too. But, I prefer the size and orientation of the second. I think we are down to splitting hairs because both look great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beverly. I'm using the second one. I already patched and painted all the holes. :)
DeleteThis cow painting also looks great there. How was the movie.
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy Mothers Day to you also.
Be blessed

DeleteIt's so cute! But of course as I've said, I'm gonna like whatever you put there! It keeps things interesting:D
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy!
DeleteI like the first one much better as well..........the softer colors seem to go so much better with the bedroom, serene and more comforting. Maybe there is something that you could "coat" over the shiny surface to tone it down.....maybe a satin finish or something. Love the bedding! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love this cow painting, too, but now, what about trying the patterned shams with it to tie in the colors?? The white shams needed to be there with the white cow, but now maybe not so much?? Thank you for a fun start to a Friday!
ReplyDeleteI can add them in front of the blue shams, but I want to keep the tall euros. Thanks
DeleteKim, I like that you ask for opinions, but then you are strong enough to go with what you like! After all, you live with it! Happy Mother's Day! Pam @ Everyday Living
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam! I just happened to remember this one after I posted the other one.
DeleteI like both cow pics, but the one with color gives good balance with the pale blue shams and the bedskirt. So...if you're using color...nice choice.
ReplyDeleteYes, I like a pop of color with the neutrals sometimes.
DeleteKim - two good choices! Where did you find the first cow print/picture ( the white one)?
ReplyDeleteJoanie, it was from antiquefarmhouse.com when they had it in one of their quick sales.
DeleteJoanie, I have this piece also. It is by an artist named Barrett and can be found on Amazion etc. I hope this helps.
DeleteCheck Amazon Creative Co Op...
Deletemuch better scale in size. I think that you will end up changing your mind and find something else hiding in your house. The colors of the first cow are much more soothing and subtle. Aren't you sorry you asked. I know you will find the perfect thing!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Janice. I really wasn't asking this time. :)
Deleteoops - forgot to say the big cow seems to float on the wall because of the white walls. I think it needs a border of some kind if you use it on a white wall. Once again, aren't you sorry you asked. All said with kindness and good will.
ReplyDeleteI love the proportion of this one much better, the landscape works better in my opinion, but I loved the soft colours of the first cow! Either one I would be extremely happy to stay in this guest room, Susan x
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan.
DeleteLove love the first cow! The colors are so soothing and it look larger. Seems like most of us prefer the first cow but that isn't saying the second cow is wrong. Just softer colors. Variety is the spice of life so swithch out whenever the mood strikes.
ReplyDeleteYes, it sure is. Thanks
DeleteWow loved the white cow but now this new one from your stash is super cute. You have the best cow picture stash ever!!!! Happy Mom's Day.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
Thanks Kris!
DeleteMuch better than the mirror. This was fun! Happy Mother's Day!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry!
Delete:)Luv the quirky cow Kim. Been awhile since I have done a cow... hmmm. Might have to paint one and put in the kitchen .
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day Beautiful.
Oh, Gee I'm sure you could paint a nice one!
DeleteJust perfect...you do the best beds and bedrooms.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary Ann. Appreciate the sweet comment from a professional decorator.
DeleteI like the first calf best. Why? Maybe it makes me feel more relaxed.
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteI don't think I've ever seen that cow pic before! It's very cute and looks great hung above your bed.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you have, but it's been years. Thanks!
DeleteWell, I like the added color that this cow painting offers. It brightens up the space.
ReplyDeleteI think it's fun to move things around and try them in new spots in my home. It's like getting something new because I see it in a different way or notice it again. Ha!
Thanks Sarah!
DeleteI am going to start calling you the crazy cow women! :) happy mothers day to you. enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteGo for it my friend and Happy Mother's Day to you!
DeleteDon't get testy...we thought you wanted an opinion, not just an affirmation.
ReplyDeleteOh, Carole, I'm not testy. I was just sharing my pick. Different strokes for different folks. Thank goodness we aren't all alike. What a boring world it would be. :)
DeleteLove the new cow picture. The colours pop. Hmmmm gave me an idea..why not paint one. I'll let you know how it turns out.tehe
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day Kim!
Thanks Linda and I would love to see what you paint! So glad I have inspired two artists here.
DeleteI really love this room, especially the bedding. I like the cow painting too and love the two black and white prints on the wall next to the bed. I was wondering if those two might work over the bed if placed side by side. But of course, then you would need something to replace those. And because I love to spend other people's money, if you haven't looked at Pier1 lately, they have some cow prints online that you might like as well. OK - that's enough from me. Happy Mother's Day, Kim!
ReplyDeleteOpinions don't count on this site, even when asked for one!
ReplyDeleteWhat? Sure they do. I just happened to remember this other cow and I like it. I appreciate the responses in the last post. Sorry that I prefer this one.
DeleteKim you are hilarious! You like change almost as much as I do! Thanks for sharing and I know it will change again soon...that's what I love about your blog. You do nice work and I'm grateful you choose to share with us. Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cheryl Ann! I hope you have a Happy Mother's Day, too!!
