What do you do when you find some colorful fun Euro shams on sale at the Pottery Barn outlet for a final total of $1.78 each? You grab them and run to the register as fast as you can before they realize they made a boo boo! Then you head home and decorate the guestroom for summer!
Yep, when I spied these shams and they were marked down to a crazy low price plus an extra 40% off of everything in the store. I kept looking at the price tag and was wondering if it was a mistake.
I loved the colors in them and I love to change up my beds. I don't know why, but I like playing house as Mr. Savvy calls it.
I already had all the other pillows in my crazy stash. Did you notice that I switched the art again? I brought this cute painting from the dining room. I just love the fun colors in it and it works in here especially for summer.
The blue ruffled linen shams were already on the bed and the white linen pillows are old from Ikea.
This small pillow is an old one by French Laundry Home. It has traveled the house.
The duvet cover on the foot of the bed was a sale item from PB outlet, too. I just love the white puckered feminine look.
I replaced the buffalo check bed skirt with this cheap white flowing one from overstock. I will probably add the buffalo check back in the cooler seasons. I'm loving lots of white with blue on these hot summer days.
This is the grain sack striped bag turned inside out. Love the fun print and it goes so well with the new shams and the picture over the bed. Love when that happens.
Of course hydrangeas add a pop of blue.
I replaced the neutral beige lampshades with the blue ticking ones I keep on hand. Some Japanese fishing floats and a dish of shells complete the summer vignette.
This corner has changed a bit. I added a grain sack to the back of the chair and covered the seat with a Euro sham. It's just laying on there and tucked in the sides. One of my reversible pillows is showing the ikat side.
I hung this clock above the chair in place of a painting. This is an old clock from Ballard's that I bought many years ago and just can't let it go.
And just for fun I tried this fun summer pillow that I bought last year.
Have you scored a bargain you couldn't believe?
Wow! That's a great bargain on those shams! The room looks so pretty and summery with your new textiles.
ReplyDeleteYou lucky girl! No I haven't scored any bargains like that lately. I'm constantly jealous of those of you with close access to PB outlet. :)
ReplyDeleteI love everything in this room! It's the soldes right now in France, but I haven't found any deals like yours.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a PB Outlet close to me, it's about 2 hours away. Loving your new shams. They are just perfect for summer.
ReplyDeleteMine is almost an hour away, but usually worth the drive.
DeleteThe Euro-shams are awesome...and what a great price! I love it when I find a super deal like that! I like the pops of blue you splashed around the room to go with the shams too!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your posts...they inspire me! 👏♥️
I just bought that same skirt from Overstock for the desert house, I am still your sister after all these years...hope your having a great summer Kim ~ Gary retired off the board this spring so we are finally free to roam, maybe you'll see us drop by on a road trip sometime to meet you and Doug in person
ReplyDeleteCome on, sista!
DeleteI wish I lived closer to your PB outlet! I may need to drop in on my Brother who lives in the Atlanta area for a visit and some shopping! Ha! Love the blue shams! Stay cool! Sheila
ReplyDeleteI just love the blue ruffle pillow cases. I know you have had them for awhile, but where did you get them.
ReplyDeleteErin
From an Etsy shop. Just search ruffled linen shams and you should find several options.
DeleteThanks Kim, I appreciate it.
DeleteNice shopping! I got one sham on clearance at PB that matches your puckered duvet cover. I just wanted one for a daybed, so I was thrilled. It wasn't under 2 dollars though!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find on the shams...no PB outlet within a 100 miles of me! Love the guest room with the shams, art over the bed, and the ticking lampshades...fresh and fabulous for summer! Pam @ Everyday Living
ReplyDeleteYou scored!! The shams look great on the bed, the whole room looks great.
ReplyDeleteJust when I think it's already the best, your style just gets better and better and better!!
ReplyDeleteOh, aren't you too sweet!
DeleteIncredible deal, at that price I would have grabbed them quickly too!
ReplyDeleteFinding a bargain is just one of those things that puts a hop in my step. Bravo Kim!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite arrangement is the last pic with the octopus pillow. Love it all!
I love a great deal and shams are gorgeous, Kim. What a find!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty room and what a deal on those shams!
ReplyDeleteOk Kim I want to come shopping in your guest room. I see so many wonderful things. Love that stool with the bucket of hydrangeas on it. Awesome sauce!!!! Those pillow covers are killer and the price makes them even prettier! You really scored. Love the print you put over the bed. Everything just looks so great together. So cozy and inviting. Love this.

That was an amazing bargain! Your quest room looks so fresh and cool.
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have a Pottery Barn outlet! We have a RH outlet but they mostly carry furniture and not smalls.
ReplyDeleteThe RH outlet is directly across from the PB outlet. I have found a few good deals there, too.
DeleteI would have grabbed those and run, too! Your guest room is lovely, anyone would enjoy staying in this lovely room. I have been so frustrated with finding a dust ruffle that looks nice once I get it on the bed, I am thinking of making them! I love to mix things up by moving pillows around too, but I have decided I already have enough, so I need to make covers so I can just change the covers throughout the year. This is going to be a challenge, because I am not much of a seamstress.
ReplyDeleteWish we had one of those outlets! Love what you got. It looks great in the guestroom.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
An unbelievable find!! Looks wonderful
ReplyDeleteI love the blues and white colors. It is both seasonal and soothing.
ReplyDeleteFabulous find on the new shams. I love how the room came together.
ReplyDeleteI can't help but ask.....where do you keep all your stash??? I too have quite a stash but I often wonder about other peoples storage. ...strange I know. Do you have some hints for those of us who have 'stashitis'?
ReplyDeleteLinda, I have shared where I keep a lot of my stuff in a couple posts. Closets, baskets, chest of drawers and armoire in the guest rooms, a full bonus room and a storage room off the garage.
DeleteYou really hit the jackpot. The guest room looks fantastic. I love the crisp blue and white, it does look cool for the hot summer months.
ReplyDeleteyou should have kept on running past my house and dropped them off! .lucky you!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so fresh and welcoming for summer! I have a question: HOW do you change out the bedskirts with no help????? I can not do it alone. Give me a hint, please:) Hope you are having a great week. I NEVER find any bargains at our PB outlet:(
ReplyDeletePinky, how do you know I did it alone? I did do it though. I just take all the bedding off and then flip the mattress up off the bed and let it stand or lean against the wall. Put the skirt on and put the mattress back on. This mattress isn't heavy at all. It's cheap!
DeleteI love "playing house" too, Kim and when it only costs $1.78, I say why not!!! Don't you love the PB outlet? Not all bargains are that amazing, but when you find them, I agree, run! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the shams and love the changes in the farmhouse guest room!....Now..I think I may need to rally for a PB outlet nearer to me...mine is about 2/12 hours away....I know you left that outlet with a smile!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this look, but I hesitate to do a bed quite like that for a "guest" room in case we have a male in this that room (we have a lot of PGA caddies). Do men find it too feminine, or are the bed covers okay? It's such a beautiful room!
ReplyDeleteMargaret, basically the only man who uses this room maybe twice a year is my son with his wife. He could care less what it looks like. :)
