In case y'all haven't noticed I love to make up a pretty bed and I like to change out the bed linens quite often to try out new looks. This summer my bedding is light and bright, but still has a pattern and subtle colors.
I already had the euro shams that I picked up at the Pottery Barn outlet a couple years ago and then bought the duvet cover a couple months ago at the outlet, too, deeply discounted.
Doesn't this pillow just speak summer? We should all turn off our mind and float down stream occasionally. There will be a giveaway soon on instagram for one of these pillows!
Favorite books, a throw, and a basket of collected shells all sit on my chippy bench from France.
A corner to read those books unless I look at them in bed.
I am so glad I painted and antiqued the weird gold color of the frame of the pastoral. If you missed that post and the four easy steps you can see it here.
good deal on the PB bedding. Proves all good deals come to those who wait!

DeleteBeautiful as always. Love the look so serene and calming... you continue to amaze me with the amount of painting you do. I have been working on our guest room for the last week and am now just finishing up with it! Painted the walls, and 3 pieces of furniture...whew glad when it is done and then on to the dining room where I am making over our dining room table and chairs.... always a project in mind! Blessings to you and yours, coming to you from French Gulch California, Curtis
ReplyDeleteThank you, Curtis!
DeleteI noticed the painting right away. It looks great there and blends in so well with the decor. I really like your duvet cover. A/C is pretty much unheard-of here, so the duvet is packed away. I suppose I could put on layers for looks, but they would end up on the floor at night.
ReplyDeleteYes, this one goes to the floor at night, too. :)
DeleteYour bedroom is so calm and restful. I could spend the entire summer here!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurel!
DeleteLovely room! I must admit I did not like your frame re-do yesterday. Didn't want to comment because "if you don't have anything nice to say..." but LOVE it now in your bedroom! It's perfect! It really looks so lovely against your wall color and the painting just pops (so overused a word but apples here) in the room and provides a spot for you eyes to land amidst all the calming neutrals. Question is, did you KNOW this all along and this was part of your master plan or was this just good luck? This look is a keeper! At least until you get the bug to warm up for fall. BTW- how do you like the Gianetti book Patina Style? I'm tempted to splurge but don't know if I would get this one or Patina Farm...
ReplyDeleteJoanne, I got a couple of negative comments on it. I'm glad you changed your mind after seeing it hanging up. I wasn't sure how it would look, but knew it was just paint and I could fix it if I didn't like it.
DeleteA calm and peaceful looking retreat, Kim! Always perfect! Pam @Everyday Living
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pam!
DeleteKim, everything you do is beautiful! The frame redo is perfect. I have one question. I keep a duvet at the end our bed, also, and my husband hates it! I can't find a duvet thin enough that it does not overtake our bed. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteDebbie, the duvet goes on the floor when we sleep in the bed. It's basically just for looks. :) Thanks
DeleteLove it! Just love it! Serene! Cool, calm, collected! You had better be careful. Your guests will boot you out of this inviting room if you don't keep an eye on them. Who wouldn't? Excellent job, as usual, Coordination Queen!
ReplyDeleteThis is the master bedroom so no chance of getting kicked out.lol!
DeleteThanks
It looks so relaxing! Very cool and refreshing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Penny!
DeleteI love these beautiful neautral colors and the frame on the paining is perfect! I also love the vignette on the night table with the candlesticks. SO pretty! I wish I could find something different for us to use as nightstands to replace the "matchy" set that is part of the bedroom "suite". LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pinky. I have one nightstand and the antique chest by my side. Almost anything can be used as nightstands.
DeletePS, I forgot abiut that gorgeous bench at the foot of the bed. It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletelovely...and so relaxing. Love your wood armoire. sheila
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sheila!
DeleteLooks amazing. Love the pillow. We have the blue color way of the duvet and shams and love it.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, I love the blue, too!
DeleteBeautiful Kim.....I love the Jolie Paisley pattern!...and the newly painted frame/painting looks fabulous over the bed....Such a soothing summer look in the room!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shirley!
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, as always. The current version of your master seems very peaceful. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stacey! That is what the bedroom needs to be.
DeleteYour bedroom is beautiful! What is the name of the PBS bedding and where did you find that precious pillow? Blessings to you and your family from Charleston, SC.
ReplyDeleteI don't know the name of the bedding, but I think PB still carries it. The pillow is from Sugarboo and Company. There will be a giveaway towards the end of the week.
DeleteAwesome! Thanks for replying :)
DeleteA pretty and calming Master Bedroom. Would you mind giving me the source of the Pharmacy Floor Lamp (reading lamp)? I NEED one for my home! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI found that at the Restoration Hardware Outlet a few years ago. Thanks
DeleteThanks. Love your blog.
DeleteLove it.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteCount me on as one of those who loves the painted frame. Seeing it here shows it fits the room better than the funny gold color. And the picture in the frame really pops. I'm gonna go to my ACE and get some Amy Howard's dust. Because the dust in my room does not look as good.
ReplyDeleteKim, this is a soft, serene look for a bedroom sure to encourage a good night's sleep. It's all beautiful! What is the tray on the side table? Is it an antique piece?
ReplyDeleteSarah, no it isn't old. It's a bamboo tray I bought from Joss & Main a few years ago. Thanks!
DeleteOK...now frame looks GREAT! Looks lovely in your bedroom! Don't you just love your home? I do!
ReplyDeleteI always love to see what you do with your bedrooms.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I am in love with that pillow with the words.
So lovely Kim and I'm with you on changing out linens, etc!
ReplyDeleteLove the peaceful look you've created! It amazes me how many different ways you have had this room! They always look great. I have to admit that it drives me crazy hearing about all your fabulous deals at Pottery Barn outlet! You are so lucky to have one close. I buy all my stuff on sale at my pottery barn store but your deals are so much better!
ReplyDeleteI love the lighter summer look in your master. I wish there was a Pottery Barn outlet near my house. I love their bedding!
ReplyDeleteThe summer look in your bedroom is really great. I do not change all my bedroom for the seasons as it's a very unfinished room, but recently I began changing the pillow cover for every season and I'm wondering if I'm not under your influence ;)
ReplyDeleteI really love every room! I want to refresh my master bedroom but can't find gathered dust ruffles that don't look fabric-stingy. Just thinking about sewing one makes my heart pound! Too much fabric involved! If anyone knows of a good product source I would be most appreciative.
