Recently I shared the new look in the other guestroom with the new accent wall and some new blue patterned curtains in place of the neutral ones. Seems more color and pattern is creeping back in. I had actually hung those curtains in this guest room first, but then moved them. I started to order the same ones for this room, but thought I would do something different.
These are by the same brand as the other ones and really well made for a really good price. They are lined and weighted, too. This is not a sponsored post I'm just sharing what I have found.
A few other changes happened in here, too, of course. I swapped the bench out back to this one that I bought in France.
The bench is a good spot for some books.
I have switched some bedding around. This white duvet was in the other guestroom.
This is my cute new pillow. You know I can't say no to cute pillows.
I fell for this cute pattern and love the added details with the ruffled edge and buttons.
I love to mix patterns, too.
I shared the mirror turned architectural art DIY here. I just love the contrast of the raw wood against the white and with the pops of blue.
The last change is I took out the round drum table, since I needed to use it elsewhere, and replaced it with this old table from my stash.
Oh, and after I finished taking these photos and writing this post one more change took place. Some chairs were shuffled around and this one landed here from the master.
I'm glad this chair can be moved from room to room.
It's the ever evolving house.
I wasn't sure about these new curtains, but they have grown on me.
Whatcha think?

DeleteLove the country prints in this room and that chair fits here so much better than the family room. Gorgeous room.
ReplyDeleteThanks , Marty!
DeleteA little bold for me but I do like them.
ReplyDeleteYes they are bold for sure.
DeleteI LOVE the new curtains, love that pattern! The room looks terrific. I need a reservation!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pinky!
DeleteI like the curtains, I do like curtains that are lined and heavy so they hang well. I also love mixing patterns.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan. I like them lined and weighted too.

Thank you, Sheila!
DeleteA bit bold and trendy. I am not a fan of unlined window treatments and these appear to be slightly thin fabric.
ReplyDeleteI luv the mirror turned architectural piece 😉 . Nice changes Kim.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gee. I'm loving that piece too!
DeleteKim, I absolutely love the curtains and the cute pillow with its dressmaker details is so perfect...I wouldn't have passed it by, either! Such a pretty guest room! Pam @ Everyday Living
ReplyDeleteLovely
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joyce!
DeleteEverything in this room is wonderful down to the chippy little lamb.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carol!
DeleteKim--I love the way you keep the big, expensive things neutral and then add some bold color with pillows and curtains. Looks fresh and inviting!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sussn! Actually nothing in this room was expensive.
DeleteLove the new look and yes love the curtains...such a cute print...and love that cute pillow too!...I am such a fan of chippy benches at the end of a bed.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shirley!
DeleteLove the new pillow with the buttons!!
ReplyDeleteI knew when I saw it I had to have it. Thanks, Jeanie!
DeleteEvery time I see that fabulous lamb somewhere in your home I get sheep envy!!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone loves that sheep.
DeleteI am loving the blue and white. It's so pretty and the addition of the purple flowers is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks , Susan!
DeleteYou really have a good eye for getting just the right mix to be harmonious without being either humdrum nor chaotic. I learn a lot here.
ReplyDeleteYour new curtians look very cute! Love the blue and white and your new pillow looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue in your guest room! I'm not usually a fan a blue, but you've added it so beautifully that I really love the look!
ReplyDeleteLove the whole room!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteYour guest rom looks great, but I must tell you that you exhaust me! I can't keep up with all your energy to change things up in your home. Personally I like to try things out, but once I find what I like it lives there until it dies! Boring, I'll admit, but it works for me! Can you share where you found the old books you have displayed on the gray table? I love that look but searches in my local Goodwill have been unsuccessful unless I want tawdry romance paperbacks! Any one know of a place to just buy them without having to hunt for them? Im okay with new old looking books- they don't have to be genuinely old. Thx!
ReplyDeleteJoanne, sometimes I exhaust myself. lol I find gotten most of my old books at Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta. There is a guy who sells books and has a table full of $5 books. I have gotten a lot of them there. Just check antique shops.
DeleteYou might try school book fairs. I have worked several and was amazed at what people had donated to the schools. Everything from medical books to really old books. Good luck.
DeleteThe curtains are nice. Some color and pattern are good with all the white. The new pillow is very cute. I like it with the checked ones. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteLoving that sweet little pillow!!! The curtains are great, but the up close shot of the pattern doesn't look like the distance shot.... Was surprised by the actual pattern and I wouldn't have expected those in your home but they work perfectly!
ReplyDeleteWhat wall color did you use on the lower half of this room? Are you happy with it? I use a mix of gray and taupe neutrals and I'm looking for a wall color that's warm enough but neutral enough to accommodate both. I also through blue in there sometimes... so I want it light and easy, as not to fight against the color I like to play around with in the room. Tt's for a Master.
ReplyDeleteThis room is painted French Canvas by Benjamin Moore. Thanks
DeleteI love the curtains you chose. All the touches of blue really make a beautiful room.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog Kim and always seek it out first to read. I love your decorating sense, colour combinations and the ethereal feel of your home. You often mention your French purchases and I was wondering which mode of delivery did you use to get them to The States?
ReplyDeleteKeep on blogging Kim. You are great! Phyllis
Oh, aren't you sweet, Phyllis! We used a container to ship our stuff back since there were several large pieces. It cost a fortune, but so worth it.
DeleteI absolutely love this room. she beautiful. I think I could live there forever. Would you mind to share the source for your beautiful headboard and that gorgeous chair!!!! I also love the paint color....I just might give that a try!!!
ReplyDeleteHeadboard is old from Home Decorators, chair is from wayfair and the wall color is French Canvas by Benjamin Moore. Thanks
DeleteThat chair is just begging for me to come sit in it ~ is it as comfy as it looks? I might have to drop by and see for myself :) We are headed East to New England states in the RV for the colors in a couple of weeks, then down south to Florida, if we get anywhere close to you I'll give you a shout, would love to meet up with you guys in person after being pen pals for almost 10 years!
ReplyDeleteKathy, no, it really isn't a comfy chair, but it looks good. :)
DeleteIt's actually been almost seven years, but who's counting.
I love the pillows and the curtains! This whole room looks great! I love seeing all the changes you make. The rooms always look completely transformed!
