Do you know what makes touring a show house more fun? Touring it with your bestie. We had the best time traveling the very windy mountain roads to Cashiers, NC to tour this year's show house called Burt Farm. It was such a picturesque setting and it was cool and sprinkling a bit when we arrived, but after touring the inside of the house the sun was making an appearance again. This home sits on 131 secluded acres and is for sale for a hefty price tag.
After parking a golf cart shuttled us to the house and this is one of the first things I saw.
Front of the house.
When we stepped up to the front porch we were given some history of the house and then told to start with the master bedroom on the left just inside the front door.
This room was so cozy and filled with beautiful antiques. Everything in the home was for sale, too. There was a notebook in each room with all the information and prices. This piece was just inside the door to the bedroom.
The fireplace was straight across from the entry to the room.
Beautiful antique bed with exquisite linens. I truly want a monogrammed pillow like this one.
Notice the details on the duvet.
The master bath was surprisingly large for a home built in the 1800's. Huge shower at the end of the room.
Of course the bathroom was updated with new amenities.
Modern free standing tub.
Loved the cute painting over the tub. Could have been mine for almost $6,000!
Here we are the four musketeers. The designer of the outside living area took this photo of us with my phone.
We will stop here and I have so much more to share.
The next space will be the family room which was my favorite room inside.
Here's to a fabulous week ahead!
It was a great house. Beautiful home tour, beautiful times, beautiful friends!
ReplyDeleteOh, how fun! Even the guys look happy to tag along! That monogram on the pillow is really lovely and I can just see one on your bed!
ReplyDeleteGotgeous! Love the inspiration
ReplyDeleteWe live just down the mountain in Brevard. I'll have to make a trip up to see this beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteYou 4 look fabulous!!! I wish I could see this wonderful house! I just LOVE Cashiers! How long is the house open?
ReplyDeleteOnly to the 28th, Pinky. Thanks!
DeleteSuch a pretty pretty home!
ReplyDeleteI love a home tour and I can't wait to see the rest! I may just have to ride up there to see it!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the next installment, Kim!
ReplyDeleteI love showhouses...the exterior looks so pretty! Will be looking forward to more! Pam @ Everyday Living
ReplyDeleteBeautiful home. Glad you two couples had a fun trip.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim, I learnt something this week. I had previously not heard of Cashiers NC but now have another destination to visit when I am next in the US.
ReplyDeleteThe house is beautiful and I think I need the chair by the desk!
ReplyDeleteExterior of home is too mesmerizing and alluring. Lush green garden is a bonus. Pictures are fabulous and I am sure you had a great fun while touring this home. This home is truly treat to the eyes.
ReplyDeleteClearly nobody takes a steamy bath with a $6,000 painting! But it's pretty. The bathroom probably started out with a different function and got converted to a bathroom when they installed plumbing.
ReplyDeleteThe lattice detail on the porch makes all the difference on the exterior. It adds so much charm to an otherwise typical house.
Thanks for the tour Kim. Did Miss Bailey go with you guys? She is he most adorable dog!
ReplyDeleteCity and state please
ReplyDeleteNamed it in the first paragraph.
DeleteBeautiful tour, Kim! I can't wait to see the rest of the house if the bedroom and bathroom are that pretty! Love the porches too!

131 acres and a stunning house, what's not to like. I would have loved to look around, coming from generations of farmers I would love to go back to my roots or breed horses as my Mother did.
ReplyDeleteWhat looks like a wonderful tour you took. Love the picture of you all at the end. Your hair is very pretty and the blonde looks good on you.
ReplyDeleteI just ordered a tortoise shell mirror so was glad to see one there in the bedroom.
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! It's always fun to tour a show house. That one looks neat since it's actually old and renovated. I look forward to seeing the rest of the rooms.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be in Cashiers right now and escape some the heat and humidity! Thanks for the tour, your hubbies are good sports. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home! Thanx for taking us with you gals!
