The farmhouse style guestroom has a new look for the fall season with a few updates You can see the way it looked before here. I loved the white bedding, but there is something about adding more texture and color that makes the room feel cozier for the cooler days ahead. This room is the one I love to change up just to create a new feeling and have fun with. I'm always experimenting.
Meet Mango. Yep, that is the name he was given on the Ballard Designs site and I think it's perfect.
When I saw Mango I knew I had to have him. I actually thought he would go in the breakfast room, but the size I chose is wrong for that wall. I could have ordered a larger size, but the price really jumped. So I had to find him a new spot and when I hung him here the angels sang.
These shams with the navy ticking and cute ruffles are turned backwards so the buttons can show. They are much more interesting this way instead of the plain front.
The colorful pillow in front was in a basket at Pottery Barn all by itself and I had never seen this one before.
I love how the colors in the pillow go perfectly with this quilt that I already had.
This is the reverse side of the quilt. I'll have to switch to this side some time. The navy blue quilt is from Pottery Barn and I purchased it when it was on sale plus they offered free shipping. I also had some discount rewards coupons to use so I spent very little on it.
Little ruffles along the bed skirt.
The picture that was previously over the bed found a new home on this wall and the clock it replaced went to the consignment shop. Yes, stuff is getting cleaned out.
With just a few changes and the room is cozy and ready for the cooler season.
I hope this has given you some ideas to change up and cozy up those bedrooms.
Happy Columbus Day and have an awesome week!

You made it perfect for the cooler days ahead! I love Mango! I really love your ticking stripe pillow shams! Where did you get them? I have a little primitive chair like yours that I love! Your room always sings beautifully with your touch! Singing choirs of angels!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I need design help. My home is so bad. Don't even want to be here. How sad is that?
ReplyDeleteCarol, I'm sorry you don't feel good about your home and I wish mine didn't make you feel that way about yours.
DeleteYou are full of inspiration! That cotton makes the bed look completely different.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you have the energy to do so much. I kind of find something and then just stick with it. Although I got busy with a can of "old gold" spray paint and a thing my husband wanted to throw away, and when he came home he was extremely impressed. Not sure whether I will share that, or just keep people guessing.
I'm thinking about Carol Jane's comment and wondering what it is that is off for her. I would love to help her feel better about her place or to make tweaks that would make it a happier place for her.
Thanks and I don't know Carol Jane's email address. Maybe she will come back and read your comment and y'all can get in touch.
DeleteI don't know how you manage to change an entire room without buying everything new! Amazing, and love and want to shop everything in this new room!
ReplyDeleteVel, there was a few new things for this look. The navy quilt, bed skirt, ticking shams, lamps, cow art, and pillow. :)

DeleteYou h ave just confirmed everything I was thinking about for our guesthouse. In the summer the bedroom looks great, cool and inviting against a backdrop of heat and sun outside.
