A few weeks ago I shared my new chair in the great room in a French Country Fall Tour. I had also ordered a couple of other things, but one item was on back order so I waited patiently. The last item finally arrived and my master bedroom got a little makeover again. I love a pretty bed and bed linens and I have had my eye on this quilt for years.
One of the things I love about it is the stripes on the reverse side. I will have to flip it over some time and use it that way, too.
I used a variety of pillows from my stash. The classic monogrammed pillow is from Ballard's and old.
This quilt has beautiful detailing from the raised designs to the scalloped edge. The
bedskirt is made of raw silk and it is so luxurious and adds wonderful texture.

I seriously wish we had feel-a-vision because this quilt is so super soft. It feels like your favorite old cotton blanket, t shirt, flannel pj's, etc. that has been washed a hundred times. Yea, it's that soft.
I changed the summer pillows out for some that work for fall and add more color and texture.
I have used these brown shams before. They are from the Restoration Hardware outlet.
I have had these Euro shams for years. I bought them at the Pottery Barn outlet and at that time they just did not work anywhere. I'm so glad I can finally use them. The colors and the print are perfect for fall. The cheetah pillows add some fun.

I like mixing new and old and I thought I would try this modern chair in the room.
The plaid chair, that was replaced with the new French style chair, is back in the master again.
The view from the bathroom with the morning sun pouring in. My room stays dark this time of year except for early morning.

POST EDIT: The raw silk bed skirt from Soft Surroundings tears very easily and mine has since been removed. It had three large holes in it on the other side of the bed.

ReplyDeleteAwe, thanks, Chloianna.
DeleteKim, I love the quilt and bed skirt! If I hadn't spend so much money on our little weekend trip up north I could have purchased a king sized one! So tempting. It's absolutely stunning. I love every detail in your bedroom. You always style it so beautifully. Wow, your ceiling and chandelier are beautiful! Your bedroom has the look and feeling of a French Chateau for sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet compliment, Sandy. Thanks
DeleteYour bedroom is stunning. Very soothing. Love the new quilt!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, LKJ.
DeleteThe quilt is amazing!....I did not know that it had a reversible feature...and the raw silk bedskirt is perfect with the quilt....a beautiful French Country bedroom dressed for the crisp cool weather of Fall!
ReplyDeleteYes, that makes the price a bit better. :)
DeleteKim - that is so delish!! I've been following for a while and this is my absolute favorite way you have styled your master. So so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy. It's my favorite, too.
DeleteYour French villa down south is coming along nicely....
ReplyDeleteAwe, thanks, Betty.
DeleteI just wanna crawl into your beautiful bed Kim! I'm seriously getting a fabric headboard, any thoughts on it? I know you probably love yours, but any downside? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove it, Vel. So far no downside. It's great to lean against while reading in bed.
DeleteI saw your quilt on Instagram and fell in love with it. And, the bedskirt is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol.
DeleteBeautiful room! Only one question, do you make that bed like that EVERY day?! LOL
ReplyDeleteYes, Sharron, I sure do. I love a made up bed.
DeleteYou are an inspiration to me!!
DeleteSo pretty Kim. Love that quilt and also the bedskirt is awesome. It is so great that you can mix and match and do some switch a roo with all your pretties for a new look. Your bedroom is so serene and pretty.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol.
DeleteWhat a pretty quilt! I too love the stripes on the other side. You always have the prettiest bedrooms.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Thank you, Brenda.
DeleteThe whole room is so well put together. Love how you put hits of blue in various places to tie in the blue in the plaid chair, etc. I could sleep well here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for noticing the blues.
DeleteThis is truly my favorite look for this beautiful room! OMGoodness, it is all gorgeous. I want that bedskirt SO bad but went to the site and it is WAAAAY out of my budget, sadly:( The pillows you chose are perfect. Love everything.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pinky. I was lucky to get a discount on it. Watch for it to go on sale some time.
DeleteI love the bedskirt too! Never looked at Soft Surroundings Thought they only had clothes.
DeleteWhere is your Pin button? I was going to Pin this but can't get it to work?
ReplyDeleteShould be in the top left corner, Pinky.
DeleteI love your bedroom! The colors are so soothing and the textures are perfect. This room is very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Trudie.
DeleteThe quilt and bedskirt make a stunning combination! Love the stripes on the other side. I have to check out Soft Surroundings, for sure!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks just lovely!!
ReplyDeleteYour room looks gorgeous. I've also had my eye on this quilt and I'm glad you've got so many pictures of it. Your bedskirt looks great with it. Thanks for sharing your updates with us!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! I don't think I've noticed your ceiling before - so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom looks like a sanctuary, Kim. It is beautiful. When I think you can't possibly make a room any prettier, you do! Perfect, just perfect! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. It looks so well put together and coordinated. You are a master at mixing bed linens.
ReplyDeleteNow this is one beautiful room! I had my eye on that very same sold bedskirt but was hesitant to spend all that just to add some texture to my master and didn't want to invest that much and still use my old(er) bedding. It looks lovely! love all that texture! I do have question regarding the quilt- is your bed a king? is your bed pillow top and does the king being only 108" work for you? I am so frustrated as i have a pillow top king ( not super fluffy) but every duvet, comforter or quilt i like is to skimpy and looks cheap. it seems like bedding has not caught up to the larger mattress heights and the bedding is too short on the side drops. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteJoanne, my bed is a king. It isn't a pillow top, but a combo regular mattress and memory foam. This quilt is plenty big and so are the ones I have from Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware. Thanks
DeletePerfect! Can you tell me where you got the knit throw on your plaid chair? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom looks so gorgeous....I love the new quilt!!! I would never want to get out of bed in the morning ;o)
ReplyDelete~Des
Love the quilt, such a pretty bedroom.
ReplyDeleteStunning!!
ReplyDeleteKim - the transformation is stunning. The quilt and dust ruffle are breathtaking...just lovely.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the quilt and the skirts. I have mentioned how much I adore Soft Surroundings. I like the chair with the quilt. I wish I had the ability y to move things around. My furniture shuffle days are over.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Swoon Kim! I would never leave your bedroom!
ReplyDeleteJust Heavenly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan I move in? LOL it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteKim......I've been a Soft Surroundings customer for years, and have admired and swooned over the same quilt! I like change, and have spring/summer bedding and fall/winter bedding sets. I just might cave-in and order the French Market quilt! Beautiful.....
ReplyDeleteKim, I am loving the new look! I was curious as to which color bedskirt you ordered, the natural or the ivory. Some pictures look like the ivory and others like the natural. Want to order both the quilt and the bedskirt and for those interested, I was just on the website and the bedskirt has special pricing right now making it hurt a bit less:]
ReplyDeleteLaurie, I got the natural. Thanks and happy shopping!
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous quilt. That stitching!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so comfortable. You really have a thing to mix texture and pattern and make it look harmonious.
ReplyDeleteKim....Every time you update your master, it is more beautiful than the time before...Is your beautiful Soft Surroundings quilt the ivory or the white ?
ReplyDeleteKay, it doesn't come in white. It comes in this color and two darker colors. Thanks
DeleteYour quilt is lovely. I see that it comes in a "Natural" color. Is that the color that you used or did they have a lighter, Ivory color available when you ordered?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's the natural color.
Deletewhat is the color of the walls?
ReplyDeleteAlexandria beige by Benjamin Moore.
DeleteI have looked over your post several times and still can't find where you purchased your quilt. Do you mind telling me? Thanks, Tona in Bama
ReplyDeleteIt is from Soft Surroundings.
DeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI just love your bedroom makeover!!!! I love the BED!!!! Quilt, dust ruffle, pillows and headboard. Where did you find the upholstered headboard? It's beautiful. You are so talented with putting everything together. I can't wait to see what you change-up for summer. Thanks for sharing,
jean
Hi Jean, my bedroom doesn't even look like this anymore. This post is from the fall of 2016 and of course it has changed. It even just got repainted and I posted that post recently. That headboard which is now gone was from Wayfair a few years ago. Thanks
DeleteLove this!!! Just found you as I am redoing my bedroom and noticed that all of my favorite pins are of your room, just styled differently through the years!!! I am ordering this quilt . I also love the bed skirt but as it ripped easily do you have another recommendation? We have a King bed with iron headboard. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteWhere do I Purchasethis bedspread
ReplyDeleteMy 1st time at this side love this bedspread
