Remember the story of Goldilocks and the three bears? Remember when she went in the three bears' house and tried out the three chairs and one was too large, one was too small and one was Just right? Well, my story is very similar of chairs that have changed out in my sitting room.
This is the new chair that is just right ,but wait we need to start at the beginning of the story.
This huge leather chair was a bit too big for this room, but I had to use what I had and couldn't afford a new one at that time.

This chair has been in the room for a few years. While the size is right it was a cheap chair I bought as a temporary solution. It is very firm and not comfy at all and it has been moved to another room.
I hit the chair jackpot at of all places the Country Living Fair. I wasn't even looking for a chair, but there. it. was!
When I saw the chocolate houndstooth in a petite wing back chair I literally gasped. I was like that's it!
I talked to the vendors and the chair had just been picked up from the upholstery shop. Then I sat in it and the angels sang. So comfy and the perfect size for me and the room.
And all lived happily ever after.
This is what is going on behind me while I'm taking pictures.
Have an awesome week!

ReplyDeleteLove the new chair, Kim! I'm a big fan of houndstooth and the shape is lovely. It goes perfectly in your room and will work so well with various pillows and accessories, including the one you have on it now... :-)
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a perfect spot for reading.
ReplyDeleteAnd that patch of sunshine on the sofa is the perfect spot for napping.
Love that fabric! So glad you found the chair that was just right.
ReplyDeleteI like stories with a happy ending!
ReplyDeleteYou scored! Great chair!
ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty! And of course we hardly ever get things right the first time, regardless of the situation. Great ending to your chair story. But knowing you, it will be a chapter in the book of Kim!

Perfect for your room!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like a classic wing chair! Finding it with classic fabric even better! I have three wing chairs in our house...each is different, but all the classic lines and comfort! Good job! It looks great there.

Love, love, love houndstooth, your new chair find, and also the subtlety of the "hound" pillow on the houndstooth fabric.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the houndtooth chair! A great find!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE houndstooth and love that new chair! It IS perfect for the room and YOU!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat find, Kim! Similar thing happened to me last spring at Marburger Farm. We had been looking for a pair of small wing back chairs for our sitting area off the kitchen because we moved our others to the living room when we moved out the huge leather wing back chairs that neither of us found all that comfortable. Musical chairs! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the new chair. I'm with you about comfort. Give me a comfortable chair any day!
ReplyDeleteThe chair does look perfect - I also love all your special touches - the pillow and the wood boot forms...but my favorite is the end of your story with the cutest most comfortable pup ever.
ReplyDeleteThe new chair is the perfect one. I always find what I am not looking for!!
ReplyDeleteThe chair is beautiful and comfortable? That's rare enough, so you were right to get it... But Miss Bailey is the one who understand life the best, I think!
ReplyDeleteI just love wingback chairs and the comeback they have made. As a child in the 70's I remember my parents had these at home and I hated them, they seemed so old fashioned, of course they were perfect in our old farmhouse, but I wanted modern like my friends! Fortunately they kept them and of course with some reupholstering they are now bang on trend and oh so comfortable
ReplyDeleteWhat's the story of the sweet little stool with your new chair? They pair beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI shared that sometime a few months ago. I found it at a flea market in another fabric and I recovered it. Thanks
DeleteKim, love the chair and love the room. Would you please share with me the paint color you used on the walls? It is so peaceful. Thanks, Kim
ReplyDeleteLinda, I just did a post last week with all my home's colors. It is on my sidebar. This color is Wheeling Neutral by BM paint. Thanks
DeleteLove the pillows! so yay..<3
