I had no plans to change my mantel decor, but after shooting for a future blog post I had some beautiful roses in the prettiest colors of golden yellow with ruffled pink edges left over. They needed to be enjoyed somewhere while they last so the mantel was the perfect spot. I shared the photo below on instagram from that shoot.
Mr. Savvy was a real trooper helping me with the shoot there was lots of hauling involved. I also needed flowers and greenery so we made the 45 minute drive to Trader Joes, but when we got there the flower inventory was severely down due to deliveries delayed because of hurricane Matthew. Luckily on the way back home we stopped at Fresh Market and they had the greenery and the roses.
It's a bit hard decorating around the leaning mirror and I have thought about asking the mister to hang it, but it is so heavy and I worry about his back. So I have to just add some simple things on each side.
Your mantel looks so nice, Kim! I love the beautiful color of your roses that give a nod to fall. And you can't go wrong with eucalyptus! Hope you have a great weekend. Xo, ~julie
ReplyDeleteI love peach roses. So pretty! And the color complements the marble fireplace.
ReplyDeleteYour mirror is beautiful. I would hang it just to make sure it doesn't fall somehow, but at the same time, such a heavy mirror will mean big holes in the wall.
It's been there for many months and hasn't budged. Yes, it would take some major anchors to hold it.
DeleteThis is beautiful....still simple, but lovely, with the colors of the roses and the greenery!
