I know everyone says their recipe is the best, but I have been making
This One for years and have tried others and always come back to this one. Don't fix something that ain't broke. I even had a reader email me a couple of weeks ago asking for my chili recipe after I had mentioned it casually in a post. She said she had tried numerous recipes and still hadn't found one that she truly loved. She made mine and wrote me back and said it was really good. It makes a ton so she said she was going to share with friends. You can also freeze it which is what I do after we eat on it for days.
This photo is from 2013 and I don't eat saltines anymore, but they are good with it.
Well, I'm going to enjoy these spring like temperatures this weekend!
I hope y'all have a good one.
Click on the link above my photo below for the chili recipe and be sure to check out my friends' posts, too.
Happy Saturday!
Sounds good! I make mine with black beans and we love it.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds great and I love Chili at this time of year. Soooo warm and good.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

Kim, I got a kick out of reading that Southernism - "eat on it for a few days"! I had never heard anyone say that until my son married a Georgia girl. It still makes me smile. We eat saltines with our chili, too. Love your blog. It's entertaining and polished! Best, Margie
ReplyDeleteYep, that's me a southern girl through and through. ha ha
DeleteJust copied that recipe, Kim, and will make it for the kids one night. It sounds good. I don't usually put peppers in mine so will try it next time.
ReplyDeleteIt is the weirdest thing here--when they serve chili in the restaurants they put it over spaghetti noodles in the bottom of the bowl. They do it through this whole area. I always ask them to leave them out for me but my kids grew up eating it that way and like it-cheese and sour cream on top with sliced green onions, too.
Have a great night and rest of the weekend. xo Diana
My chili recipe is very similar. (My mom's recipe) so it must be amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim- I have been a fan of your blog for a couple of years now. Thanks for the chili recipe. I'll give it a try. Mine is good, but I am looking for a GREAT recipe. I have a couple of questions for you- hope they are not too personal: "I don't eat saltines anymore" sounds like a phrase I often say these days- I wondered if you were now eating gluten free like I am. I was diagnosed with celiac disease and I miss saltines! Also, with your weather references, I am wondering if you live in the Atlanta area? I live on Lake Oconee Georgia about an hour and a half outside of Atlanta. Just curious questions from one of your fans! :)
ReplyDeleteDeb, I did go sort of gluten free three years ago, but not because of any problem with it. I am back to eating some bread now after not eating any. Yes, I live in Buford. Crazy weather for sure!
ReplyDeleteI moved to Lake Oconee from Gwinnett County, so we were almost neighbors. Enjoy these spring like days!
ReplyDeleteMmmm Yummy! it's the perfect weather for Chili!! Your recipe sound delicious! Thanks for sharing!
