The holidays are over, except for those out of work today and schools are still out, the Christmas decorations are stored away, and it's just the beginning of winter and the perfect time to make a cozy corner to hang out in while the elements outside are cold and possibly snowy for some of you. I'm in the south so not much of the white stuff happens here. I still like a cozy spot to hang out in a cold day and that is exactly what we did yesterday while it was rainy and cold. In fact I'm writing this blog post from this cozy spot.
I was going to use the French style chair that you can see in this post in this corner after the tree came down, but decided to use the plaid one with the matching ottoman. The ottoman makes this chair so much more comfortable to be able to put my feet up. I may use the other chair in the warmer months when I don't need a cozy spot.
My essentials for a cozy spot are a comfy chair, throw pillows for extra support, a throw, good lighting and a place to set a drink.
And a fire makes that spot even better.
Oh, and good reading material within reach, too.
Do y'all have a cozy spot to enjoy and do y'all have an essential that I didn't mention?
I hope y'all enjoy the first week of the new year!
Here's to 2017!!
Here's to 2017!!
Kim, your cozy spot has everything needed for comfort...Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteLove the cozy spot and have always loved that beautiful chair and ottoman. I have a couple of cozy spots...they require me putting up my feet or curling up on the sofa. Love the table next to the chair too :) ... Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove your cozy corner--your post has gotten me thinking about shaping up the chair and ottoman we have in our bedroom. The basics are there for a cozy spot but it is such a convenient space to quickly toss something temporarily that it needs serious unearthing! Your sweet and comfortable corner has inspired me to reclaim that messy area and turn it into a relaxing reading corner. Thanks for sharing your beautiful ideas!
ReplyDeleteThat does look real cozy! In this rental, there is not a cozy spot. I am looking forward to creating one next to the fireplace we will have in the house we build! Love that chunky throw!
ReplyDeleteGreat cozy spot! Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spot. I think the ottoman is key.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely inviting! I would love to curl up with a sweet dog and spend an afternoon in that spot.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI have a cozy chair in the living room where I can put my feet up, but I seem to always find myself in one little corner of the window seat for blogging, reading or watching Steve cook.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Love your cozy spot Kim. Every girl needs a cozy spot to curl up with their favorite little fur baby too. I bet Bailey loves cozying up there too.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year.

So hygge!
ReplyDeleteIf you tie together the adjacent legs of the chair and the ottoman, you'll have a chaise longue without doing anything permanent or expensive. Personally, I like when the foot rest doesn't wiggle away....
Kim I need an ottoman after seeing yours, it's beautiful and cozy for sure. I feel like I don't have time to sit and enjoy reading or things like that anymore but would love to fit it into my schedule. Your cozy spot is charming for sure:)
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect spot to me, Kim. I retreat to the sitting room off our bedroom. I have my white slipcovered down filled chair there...my laptop...hassock....table for my coffee and a fire in the fireplace...and a large SGD that overlooks the frozen bay. I plan on hunkering down there on Wednesday when I don't have so much 'running' to do.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week- xo Diana
Hi Kim, looks very cozy indeed!so nice that you have a big window nearby.
ReplyDeleteOnly thing missing are gently falling snowflakes!
Enjoy your lovely spot with Miss Bailey!
I got comfortable in your corner just looking at it. Love the throw.
ReplyDeleteDid you knit it? Pattern?
Blessings in 2017 may it be filled with many opportunities to be cozy.
Cindy, I bought the throw at the Pottery Barn outlet last year.
DeleteThanks
So cozy and don't you love ottoman's:)
ReplyDeleteI have three comfy cozy corners in my home and all have ottoman's and I love that.
Looking forward to adding one in my living room this year.
Oh, that looks so cozy! In the Pacific Northwest, our temps are in the 20s now! Sunny and cold!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect spot to get cozy, blog and have Miss Bailey hang out with you! Love your cozy and beautiful space! The fire makes it even more cozy! I love ottomans!
ReplyDeleteThe children went back to school here in France today, which is always a sad time for us, so much more fun when the children are at home all day! But your cosy corner looks delightful and it's that time of year when the festivities are over and we can all do with a little cosy warmth
ReplyDeleteIf we are lucky, Maybe you will be watching some snowfall from your cozy corner this weekend Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteThat sure does look cozy, Kim. Wish I had room for a place like that in my small house with too much clutter in it! Guess I better get rid of some of that clutter and make myself a corner! Boy, that chair looks comfy.
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect cosy spot to curl under a plaid with a good book!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of cozy spots: the sofa in the living room and the loveseat in our master. I have pillows and a throw on both also.
ReplyDeletePlease let me know where the chair and ottoman are form
ReplyDeleteThey are at least ten years old. Thanks
