Green has always been one of my favorite colors and this year the Pantone color of the year is Greenery. When we built our home 21 years ago the master bedroom had green walls and carpet with white trim. I added more white with the bedding and accessories and I loved it, but of course things changed a few years later. The green carpet even went into the master bathroom.....oh, yes it did! I know that was a bad move, but I was so worn out, since we did most of the finish work ourselves, by the time I was picking out flooring and I just said run the carpet into the bathroom plus. We were also over budget and the carpet was cheaper than tile. It was a happy day when we ripped it out and put down tile several years ago. Soon that tile will be replaced again.
Since getting rid of the red furniture in the house and going more neutral I am able to bring back in some green again. Not a lot, but just a few accessories. My favorite greens are soft sage or gray greens. Here are some photos of some pretty greens.

Lots of natural wood with the sage green walls.
I would love an area like this especially to bathe miss Bailey in.
Love how this shows the other colors that work with the green.
This was the now blue and white guest room back in 2011.
Soon all the green will be springing forth outside. I'm sure looking forward to that.
Happy Weeekend!
Love your green cabinets.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the books and the wall nook with table and paintings. Fabulous. Green has always been a favorite color of mine as well. I'm very happy to see it getting a little love.
ReplyDeleteCould you please share what color you used on your kitchen cabinets? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLisa, that is Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Chateau Gray.
DeleteYour green guest room with the PB bird duvet set was one of my very favorite looks! So much so that I had to have that duvet set. It's stored away right now but after the guest room is painted it may just fly out of the closet again!!!!
ReplyDeleteI too love greens and I am so happy to see them return. I love color!
ReplyDeleteI love greens and blues too!! The greens look great in your house and I especially love the kitchen cabinets! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreen is a favorite color of mine...I have a green sofa that fits into Pantone's color of the year, of course, next year it will be something different. Green is the predominant color of nature and I think the blue sky against the green is so beautiful. So, blue and green are a great combo. Love your green cabinets and the inspiration photos!
ReplyDeleteA fun look back at your guest bedroom! I always thought it was so pretty because I love green, too. Years ago in a house we built, we painted the trim and the doors hunter green! At the time, I thought it looked great! I'm loving the mix of blue and green now and it's the direction I'm going in our living/dining area.
ReplyDeleteI am slowly adding more and more green to our home. I avoided it for years because my childhood home was green - walls, carpeting, accessories ...
ReplyDeleteI had green for years and years and years --finally got rid of most of it..still have a soft green in the dining room but not much anywhere else. I do have quite a few green (live) plants and I think that adds a lot, too.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the green in your place, Kim. xo Diana
I have always loved green walls. I am looking for a green for our master. Have a great weekend, Kim.
ReplyDeleteWe have deep forest green for doors and windows and pillars on the sun porch. I love that it draws the eye out to all the green vegetation. I also like to use a lot of green plants in our home. They provide the perfect green accent!
ReplyDeleteOf all the greens you've shown, I like your kitchen cabinets best of all!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I even saw a nail polish shade today in Pantone Greenery.
I have my grandmother's old china cabinet and painted it a sage green with gold accents on the molding and legs..never get tired of it..the inside is painted Barely aqua and love the combo.
ReplyDeleteI love your green cabinets. I had a smaller bread box like yours and it was green. Silly me, I put it on the dishwasher and all the paint came off and I still am not sure what to do with it
ReplyDeleteI love soft greens, so I found inspiration in each of your pictures!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was planning to repaint my bedroom which is a beautiful BM green that I have loved. Now I will keep it. I could not get to the source for the green throw on the bed. Can you share that again correctly? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThese are just photos that I snagged from pinterest. That photo is on that website.
