It's very old, has imperfections, beautiful details, tarnished and rusty parts, and it's a bit stinky, but we love it! Yep, the mister loves it, too.
Hello, pretty antique French hutch.
Welcome to your new home.
I love the dark brown against the white walls.
Beautiful oak with mostly original parts. I say mostly because a couple of the locks had been changed and now we have actually replaced a couple more of the locks after I took these photos.
I love these unique handles.
My ironstone that was in the old hutch fit nicely in this one.
I changed what I had on the table. The taller pot was blocking the view to the hutch so for now I'm using the lower dough bowl filled with moss balls, preserved boxwood and lavender.
I took the chairs away that sat on each side of the old hutch. It was just to crowded.
I had painted some gray paint over the gold parts of these sconces when I first got them a couple of years ago, but decided to glam them back up with some Rub'n Buff since the new hutch is a solid dark wood.
I also like the look with the doors shut.
.But I prefer them open to enjoy my ironstone collection.
And NO, I will not be painting it! 😊

Hey Kim, did I miss the paint color on your ceiling? Would you mind sharing?
ReplyDeleteIt's been that way for years. The color is York Harbor by Benjamin Moore. All my paint colors are on my sidebar under home's paint colors.
DeleteI love rich deep toned wood furniture. This is a keeper. Will you apply Liquid Gold or anything else when dusting this peace?
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful and looks like it is from the same company as my oak hutch...Mine is from a company in The Netherlands that reproduces the look of authentic antiques using very thick oak and antique look hardware. Mine was purchased from a furniture store in Colorado - and it is always commented on as "antique"!
ReplyDeleteThis is a real antique from France. It's not reproduction.
DeleteSo beautiful. Love the fun small drawers too.
ReplyDeleteIt is stunning and I do love it with the doors open, a new way to display things without ruining an antique, a simple idea that I would never have thought to, perfect!
