Collectors know that the collecting doesn't seem to ever stop. There is always one more piece out there to be added to the collection. It seems that is what is going on with my ironstone collection. There is always one more piece that catches my eye. I've been adding to my ironstone tureen collection and I think I am going to place a tureen on each shelf of the hutch and take out the smalls, but I'm not sure yet.
I'm being a little picky with my choices for the new tureens. I like the ones that have the unique finial on the lid. This is my newest addition.
I bought this one on Etsy and the description said this piece is bordered in hyacinth and it's a Stafforshire tureen C.1860.
While out shopping yesterday with my friend Shirley of Housepitality Designs, who is in town visiting her mother, I found the most beautiful French tureen.
I'll share that soon.
Have an awesome weekend!
Have an awesome weekend!
It's so pretty. I saw a beautiful tureen last weekend with a little peach on top. Those details just make it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty one! How fun you got to spend some time with Shirley!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty and your new French tureen is a beauty too! There is always room for Ironstone!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite collections that I have just started. However, I have no soup tureen a yet. Love white, and ironstone. Love your collection.
ReplyDeleteSo nice that you and Shirley were able to get together and shop! The new tureen is beautiful!!! I really like this one a lot!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Tureen! I hope you and Shirley are having a great time together!
ReplyDeleteShirley told me you found some good stuff, lol! I love the idea of always upgrading collections, why not? Once in love, always in love, just get the better stuff as you go along. Love the details on this one.
ReplyDeleteI know how much you love to collect things. Can't wait to see your newest tureen!
ReplyDeleteUh oh. Kim, I think that tureen that "Francetaste" came across with a peach for a final has your name on it. Just sayin'...
ReplyDeleteYour tureen is of special interest to me since my mother is from Staffordshire. Staffordshire is known as the potteries since so many different china manufacturers are in that region. It is magnificent!
ReplyDeleteLove this tureen. It's a conversation piece. Have fun with Shirley.
ReplyDeletelove your ironstone it is so pretty
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful piece!
ReplyDeleteI love your tureens! While in Florida earlier this month, I was antique-ing and found an ironstone set... two tureens (covered serving dishes) and a plate they sat on for $55. I just couldn't bring myself to purchase it, as I felt it was too large of a set for My Wee Abode. But, it was fluted, and just lovely. And what a price!
