The other day I shared my new vintage mirror that I lucked up on while enjoying some retail therapy last week and today I'm sharing where it hangs since I left you hanging. ha ha You will also notice that there is something else new in the room, too.
Yep, I bought a new metal bed.The tufted upholstered headboard was okay, but it was like a hand me down from the master bedroom when we switched to a king size bed.
I love the quatrefoil design for this French style room. I got a bargain on this bed, too. It was originally almost $600, but I got it for $224! I noticed the price has already gone back up some on Wayfair. It was out of stock at first and it was supposed to be back in stock around April 27, but as you can see it was much sooner than that. Bad thing was some of the screws were the wrong size, but we were able to get some that worked at Home Depot. Yea, Mr. Savvy was grumbling about the wrong screws.
Look at these beautiful white linen pillow shams with long flowing ruffles that I bought from Etsy shop SHOP 2016. I bought another pair first in a different color and loved them so much I had to order another set and will share the other color soon.
I love how she adds ties inside.
I thought the headboard was going to be a bit taller from the measurements, but it would have been covered with pillows anyway. It is the same as the footboard, but taller.
This is such a bright room on a sunny day.
This is how the room looked on a very stormy day yesterday. I was ready to crawl in that bed and hide under the covers. Glad we didn't have any damage like others in nearby areas.
It's almost the weekend!
It's almost the weekend!
You have been on a shopping spree lately with some good finds! Those shams are very pretty - will have to check out that shop.
ReplyDeleteYes, thank goodness for my blog income so I can keep on sharing and inspiring.
DeleteHi Kim
ReplyDeleteHow pretty. And I say that because your bedroom looks a lot like mine. I also have a black metal bed frame that I love and have a nod to the french going on in mine also. I really like how you used the pillows and the ones you got from Etsy. The room looks very inviting and cozy.
Thanks Judy.
DeleteLove the bed and the shams, with all the pretty blue accents. What a great find your mirror was!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteLove the new bed!...what a great price!!! Love everything about this room including the wonderful ruffled shams!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shirley.
DeleteOh Kim, I really, really love this bed! It is beautiful! I have never had a bed with a headboard and a footboard. I am off in awhile to go meet Yvonne for lunch! And we are getting all that miserable rain today but it shouldn't be too bad of a drive up her way.....I hope!!! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteOh, have fun, Pinky!
DeleteI love the blue and white...and I love, love that bed!! I also love those pillow shams and I think I'm going to make some for my bedroom.
ReplyDeleteOh, how nice that you can make your own. I wish I liked to sew. Thanks
DeleteKim, I love the metal bed! I have had one for years and still love it. Your room with the ruffled shams...mirror...and metal bed is perfect! We had storms yesterday but escaped the worst of it!
ReplyDeleteI love your bed. The detail is wonderful. I also like the repetition of small blue and white stripes--the pillow, the lampshade, the quilt. Just little dashes, not overdone. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bed frame! The mirror looks great there.
ReplyDeletelooks so pretty kim.
ReplyDeleteoh this is delicious! I am inspired by this room, you have a special knack for making bedrooms ultimate getaways. I love the shams too, oh i feel like I may be looking for some for myself.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Please share your source for the toile/stripe quilt! If you published it earlier, I must have missed it. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThat was purchased a couple of months ago from One Kings Lane.
DeleteThe whole thing is very pretty! Where did you get the white euro shams and coverlet?
ReplyDeleteThose are from pottery barn. Thanks
DeleteI really like those pillow covers with the long, softly gathered ruffle...and the way they tie inside.
ReplyDeleteNice looking bed, too. I gave a kind of similar one to my granddaughter when they moved.
I hope you have some results soon on your tests to share with us--so we can stop worrying.
Have a wonderful night- xo Diana
Kim, I love this bed and I love the room. It looks so gorgeous bathed in sunlight but so cosy and inviting on a dull stormy day. Blue and white is just such a classical combination and you have given it a fresh feel with several different patterns, truly showing how they can all be mixed together. Perfection x
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! YOUR NEW BED IS WONDERFUL. IT HAS CHANGED THE WHOLE
ReplyDeleteFEELING OF THE ROOM. SUCH A SCORE TOO, YOU HIT THE TRIFECTA WITH THAT
PURCHASE. WITH THE SIZE OF THE BED... THE MIRROR LOOKS LONELY THERE.
HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF A DIFFERENT SHAPE OR SIZE?
YOU ARE ALWAYS ON THE HUNT SO I AM SURE YOU WILL FIND JUST THE RIGHT
ONE.
CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THAT BED. JUST LOVELY.
VARGA
That mirror is my new antique find for that spot. I'm not on the hunt for anything else to go there. Thanks
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful. So warm and inviting.
ReplyDeleteI have a mirror obsession myself. You have found some beautiful ones over the years. And the iron bed is just lovely. If I had an extra room to use as a guest room my pick would be an iron bed also. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI love it all! The bed, shams and mirror are beautiful. I own the quilt in black and off white. I got it from JC Penney and it did come in red and white and blue and white. It is timeless beauty. Love your style! Perhaps a chandelier over the bed. Beautiful job on the tables.
ReplyDeleteI'm already thinking the same thing. :)
DeleteThat great blue quilt is from JC Penney....how long ago did either of you ladies find it there...it's perfect!
DeleteI bought mine from One Kings Lane in January.
DeleteLove everything in this bedroom, and you are right,on gloomy day you just want to jump right in and love the blue and white!
ReplyDeleteThat room does look so inviting! Glad the storms missed you! Enjoy your weekend!
