I told y'all a few weeks ago that I was thinking about taking the small ironstone pieces out of the dining room hutch and just placing a tureen on each shelf. After finding the perfect pieces and waiting for them to arrive I have done just that plus updated the table decor. So come on into the dining room again updated for early summer.
I added this large urn filled with moss balls to the table after removing it from the fireplace.
I have had this urn for years and have used it in different rooms and filled with different things. This is one of those lightweight urns, but it looks so real and it's so versatile.

The ironstone tureen on the bottom shelf is a new addition. I just love the shape of it.
This was ordered from France, but arrived pretty quickly.
I love the details on the lid.
On the other side the new piece is on the top shelf. It's a smaller tureen and has a cute pumpkin finial.

I love the details on the lid.
When I share the plates in the center the color gets washed out. Here is a close up of the pattern.
I still love my big clock I made over.
Very refreshing!

Love your display! It's so clean and simple with a lot of impact. I have a tendency to over display, then it looks cluttered.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tureens!

Using just the tureens and plates makes them more like art, and the hutch like a big piece of art rather than a storage unit.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a fabulous collection. Even though I live in France I still come across it less and less and literally jump up and down in excitement when I do find a piece!
ReplyDeleteSimple but Gracious!
ReplyDeleteThe shelf styling is very elegant, Kim!

Beautiful, Kim! Your hutch is exquisite with the simplicity of the pottery. I love how the pottery shapes really show off against the dark wood and how it's all nicely juxtaposed with the fancy French sconces. You've created a lovely peaceful space.
ReplyDeleteYour dining room always looks great. Happy June!
ReplyDeleteUrns, ironstone, transferware - I love it all!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new ironstone Kim! The French one is so great!! I saw one like that on Etsy and didn't order it, and now I'm wishing I had!
