I love to make a pretty bed even though lately mine has not been getting made with this broken foot. If y'all have been following me any length of time then you know I like changing the bedding up on all my beds. Sometimes it is just seasonally and sometimes it's just because I want a new look again. It's fun playing house with the beds. I get told all the time that I do the best beds and pillow styling on them. Well, thank you, and today I'm sharing several of the ways I have been making my beds pretty with pillows and I hope these give you some inspiration for your own beds.
As you will notice I use a mix of Euro shams, standard shams, the pillows for sleeping and some throw pillows. Just add those and your bed will thank you.
Have an awesome weekend!
I totally agree about pillows! I am a pillow addict and throw them all over my house. You always have such pretty pillows. Sheila
ReplyDeleteWow, you have a lot of bedding! I always love however you style your beds. They are all beautiful. I also love your bedskirts!
ReplyDeleteNew white linen pillows-beautiful!! Love to know your source? They are all stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhich ones? The ones with the long ruffles?
DeleteYes!
DeleteThey are from an Etsy shop called SHOP2016
DeleteI love all your linens. How do you have enough room to store all of them. And, are your bed skirts custom made? The are so full.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol. Some of the linens are gone and others are stored in closets, armoires and baskets. No bed skirts are custom. Some are Pottery Barn, the ivory one in the farmhouse style guestroom is from Wayfair and the one in the master is from Soft Surroundings.
DeleteYou do like to change bedding. I do too. I like to get a bargain so I don't feel bad about doing it.Love that you have a cow over the bed
ReplyDeleteThose beds look like just the place to curl up with a book. Very inviting!
ReplyDeleteI've been making a bunch of pillow cases from antique linen sheets. It's hard to find antique pillow cases. The fabric is so wonderful. I'm also using remnants from the curtains and upholstery to make cushion covers, to match the decor and use up the material. So easy to do.
You have such prettty bed spreads on your beds. Do you have a favoritte place to buy them? I have a new bed and am having trouble finding an affordable and yet high quality spread that is 109-120 in width. I don't realy want a down comforter to get 120 wide and I can't spend $600.00 on a spread after the costs of a new bed, mattress pads, linens and blankets! I thought my 99" wide king spread would fit )thinking a king is a king is a king) but it is too narrow. I looked at all the standard places, Macy's,($450.00 for duvet cover!) Neiman Marcus ($1,7000!!) Restoration Hardware, etc. The affordable places like Wayfair etc. aren't wide enough for my situation as I really need a 120 width. Suggestions (from anyone) appreciated!!
ReplyDeleteMost of my duvet covers and quilts are from Pottery Barn and the outlet. I do have a couple RH covers and a quilt found at the RH outlet or on sale. The scallop edged quilt on my king size bed is from Soft Surroundings and it is plenty wide.
DeleteLove them all Kim...you really know how to make up a beautiful bed!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beds. I do love making beautiful beds in our home, I just don't change them up often. Usually just seasonally. Hope your foot is healing well and you are soon back to decorating, photographing, etc. I guess the foot doesn't make it easy to decorate, photograph, etc.!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm at limited use with the foot and it's hard to do much on the scooter or without help. Hubby has run up and down the stairs for me a few times. :) Really have lost some of my mojo anyway between my mom's issues and mine.
DeleteI would be hard pressed to pick a favorite. I love them all. I really love the soft neutral French themed ones- those are all something I would copy! (ha-yes I am THAT person that copies something I like).
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing better and I hope your mom's health is improving, too. It is hard having all that going on at one time---especially when you are used to being busy and doing things nonstop.
Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend, Kim. xo Diana
You are the master at styling beds for sure Kim! I love all of them.
ReplyDeleteYou make the best beds! Love them all!
ReplyDeleteI agree, you make a beautiful bed! Your linen closet must be absolutely bursting at the seams :-)
ReplyDeleteKim love the look of your rooms. In the pic with the cow there is a floral rose print turned down at the foot of the bed, My grandmother made a quit (handmade) with the same rose print. Did you get it at pottery barn and is there a chance where ever you bought it would still have the cover? Thanks Hang in with your broken foot and go to therapy and follow drs orders. It will get better!!!!
ReplyDeleteI bought that awhile back at a flea market. Thanks
DeleteKim, LOVE all your linens...BEAUTIFUL! I am so in awe of your talent to pull things together to look so AWESOME! Take care of that foot and hoping your Mom is improving.
ReplyDeleteKim, you and I have the same addiction for pillows. It drives the chef crazy, but I can't resist a beautiful accent pillow if it's perfect for our home. Hope both you and your mom are getting better. Take care!
ReplyDeleteI don't use many pillows on my bed, but I've always admired how good you were at matching them to make it look like they were meant to be together!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue toile comforter in the French Farmhouse guest room and the checked curtains. Where did you get those? I change my bed linens according to the seasons. Love the way you arrange all your pillows. Where do you put the regular bed pillows when arranging the decorative ones?
ReplyDeleteThe toile quilt was purchased from One Kings Lane months ago and the checked curtains are from Country Curtains.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, your beds are the best. Love them all!
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely the pillow lady and dress the beds so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteLove the pillows in the 'Neutral Master' photo. I guess you could call them Toile.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how you 'stored' all of the bulk items too, but you replied to a query earlier.
Nice place, I hope your foot heals fast.
