Styling the Guest Bedroom Hutch for Summer

In early March I revealed  the old dining room hutch in its new space. When I bought the antique French hutch for the dining room I really didn't want to get rid of the old one so I found the perfect spot in one of the guest bedrooms. It was decorated with some spring touches at that time and I knew I would most likely change the decor in it occasionally so today I'm sharing how I added summer style it by shopping the house.

I wanted to add just a few things that speak summer like a chippy planter filled with some things from the sea.

On the middle shelf I placed a pair of my Chinese ginger jars to bring in more blue and white which is good to decorate with all year, but especially in the hotter months.

I placed the large sea fan on the top shelf for texture and then I grabbed this clear glass wine bottle. It reminds me of a bottle with a message in it found on a beach somewhere.

The praying boy moved from the table by the bed. He adds more white and you can't go wrong with the chippy patina.

The stacks of books were used before, but moved to different spots in the hutch. I love draping beads for added texture.

I decided to bring this white marble lamp up from the kitchen with then new perfect lampshade I talked about here. I just swapped the little brown marble lamp that I had placed here and put it in the kitchen. It's a better fit and I love this one in this blue and white room.

I hope you found some inspiration for styling a hutch or you can apply these to bookshelves.

Have a fabulous week!
