When I shared the new furniture arrangement in the great room last week I also mentioned the big bird art over the fireplace might move out. It was removed and stored away for now. Some artwork and other things have shuffled from here to there as I am starting some early fall decorating around the house. First up is the mantel as I usually start with that first. I'm calling it my effortless elegance mantel since it truly was effortless putting it together and it looks a bit elegant. I remember when my magazine spread in the French Country Style Magazine in 2014 was titled Effortless Elegance. I thought who, me?
I'm just a jeans, casual tops and mostly flats wearing kind of gal. I never think of myself or my home as elegant.
The mantel does have a bit of an elegant feel to it with the use of the old Ethan Allen painting and the vintage bronze sconces along with my birds that I like to use this time of year. I bought this painting from a local consignment shop several years ago and it was hanging in the foyer by the stairs. Now another painting is hanging there. Yes, lots of shuffling again.
I started not to place anything on the mantel, but I thought it might look better with the birds and I like to use my vintage books as lifts. They also add texture.
Shot from the stairs.
I'll share the whole room decorated for early fall soon.
It is so nice and cool outside, but I know we will still have some warm days.
It sure does feel like fall temporarily and I'm going to embrace it.
I'm so excited that today is counter top install day in the master bathroom!
Very pretty and perfect for fall! I love how you put the logs in the fireplace. I am sure you are looking forward to using it soon. The temps are cool here this morning so I might get motivated to do some fall decor!

Kim, your mantel for Fall is just right. My husband and I bought similar mirrored candle wall sconces several years ago during the Marietta Pilgrimage, but ours lack the crystals. What are the sizes of your crystals, and do you know a seller who might have them? We are all excited to see your reveal pictures of your master bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI think they around an inch in size and just google chandelier crystals and I'm sure some will come up. Thanks
DeleteLove this Kim. Very pretty and easy going. Perfect look for fall.
