This guest bedroom is the one I like to have fun with when I style it seasonally or for the holidays. I changed the bedding and added some fun new pillows mixed with old ones and layered quilts for those chilly nights. I have also incorporated some family heirlooms.
Come on in the fall style French farmhouse guest bedroom.
I knew when I found the euro shams on super sale at Pottery Barn a couple of months ago that they would be perfect in here. (Yes, my wheels started turning about how to use those shams in here that early.) I changed the cream colored quilt over to a charcoal gray one, which is the pick stitch quilt from Pottery Barn.
I love mixing patterns and here I have the floral print mixed with ticking and gingham. The ticking shams are also new from PB. I only buy these things on sale. Never pay full price, ever!
I love pulling this very old and worn quilt back out that was made by my husband's mother. This is an heirloom that we cherish.
It is literally falling apart in places.
This trunk is another heirloom in this room as it was my dad's. When we were cleaning out my dad's house the step siblings had tried their best to hide this under some stuff, but we found it. 😊
I like pulling out this cotton boll garland. The vine is fake, but the cotton bolls are real.
I moved this nightstand in here from the bonus room since some big changes have been made in the bonus room. That reveal will come soon.
I still love these vintage lidded baskets stacked on this side.
I would get more of these if I had places to use them.
Ha! Christmas! There I said it too!....LOVE the guest room and that gorgeous trunk looks amazing at the foot of the bed....beautiful details as always!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully decorated!
ReplyDeleteLove the look in this room. The colors are so moody and remind me of a cool fall day with dark puffy clouds. We get a lot of that here in MI. Love the chest!
ReplyDeleteYour new colors, with the gray, work even better with that plank accent wall.
ReplyDeleteKim, this is such a beautiful retreat for guests. I love that trunk, I am so glad that you got it!

ReplyDeleteI love how you added the heirloom quilt and trunk to your beautiful space...made it even more special!
ReplyDeleteIn a million years I wouldn't have thought to put all those colors and textures together but I love it!!
ReplyDeleteCurious why no one mentioned the beautiful architectural piece above the bed, but then I've just started reading you, so maybe it has been mentioned before...is it available for purchase anywhere???Or an actual antique and a one of...????
ReplyDeleteIt is a mirror frame and yes, I have had it for some time so my regular readers have seen it before. Thanks
DeleteLove this room. I read the comments above. Cannot purchase the architectural piece any longer? Rustic candle holder too ? Thank you
ReplyDeleteCathy, the architectural piece is an old mirror frame that I removed the glass from and stripped and painted. It was found at a flea market so no, it isn't available. Sorry.
DeleteThe candlestick is an Aidan Gray candlestick and you can look up Aidan Gray and should find their site and more that you can order from or find where they are sold in stores.
Thank you
ReplyDeleteKim, I love the new look in this room. The old trunk is just beautiful. Would you mind telling me where you got the tan and white gingham pillows on the bed? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteJan, this post is from last fall, but the pillow covers were ordered from bemz.com and they probably still carry that fabric. Thank you
DeleteThose trunks are truly beautiful and your quilt is gorgeous.♥️♥️♥️
