Traditional Christmas Front Porch, the Main Tree and More

I didn't think I was going to take any pictures of the front porch decorated for Christmas this year, but since the fresh garland finally arrived and got put up I thought what the heck let's take a couple of shots and share them. We will also go inside to see the main tree and what the table in the breakfast room looks like now.

The exterior is decorated quite simply and traditionally with fresh garland, a couple of tiny trees, plaid ribbons, a swag on the door and the big wreath that looks much better at night all lit up.

I never shared the big tree in the great room just a couple of glimpses of it. It is decorated with all the leftover ornaments that weren't used on the other two trees.

The presents have finally been wrapped and we have a lot less under the tree this year since a majority of the gifts were mailed to my son's home in Florida. Now, that cost a pretty penny!

I added the two table leaves to the breakfast room table so ten can sit there. Six will be in the dining room and three at the counter.  Yep nineteen of us and one baby.

I used a large drop cloth for a table cloth. We had bought this one several months ago and never used it so I washed it and it fits perfectly folded in half lengthwise.

I will removed the sleigh centerpiece before everyone eats so they can see across the table. The place settings are mismatched and so are the chairs.

It's been so dark and gloomy lately, but I love having the tree lights on.

I believe that wraps up all my Christmas decor this year.

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas!

  1. Kim,
Your home looks so festive and lovely this year! I love the idea of using a drop cloth in place of a tablecloth on longer farmhouse tables like yours.

Do you use any particular product on your hardwood floors? They always looks so shiny and clean. I have been looking for a better product to use on mine. Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2018! I have enjoyed watching you do so many wonderful transformations on your home this past year especially the master bathroom which turned out gorgeous.

    1. Teresa, the only thing I use on my floors is vinegar and water. When we had these floors installed the guy told me don't use any cleaners only vinegar and water.

      Thanks and Merry Christmas!

    2. Thank you Kim. I have been using a hot steam cleaner on mine but I will add a little vinegar to the water since I know it wont harm them. A little vinegar is the greatest cleaner in the world!

  2. Beautiful Kim. I have been trying to take pics, but you are right it's so dark and gloomy.
