The painting is finished and I am beyond excited! I will share soon. If you follow me on Instagram you have seen progress shots. While being excited having painters here I got a call that my mom had fallen again and she had hurt her back so I had to go help her out and Mr. Savvy had to come home from work to be with the painters. Since I had to leave to take care of her yesterday I didn't have time to choose features for the party this week. Going to an urgent care or emergency room looks like something out of the movies these days with everyone wearing masks because of the flu epidemic. They have boxes of masks and antibacterial liquid setting out everywhere. I sure hope my mom, step dad or I didn't pick up any of those germs while waiting. Her injuries are just muscular this time and she was sent home with meds. 😄
Here is a progress shot of the paint going on from my phone.
When I first saw how light the color looked on the walls and how gray it looked on the ceiling I had a sinking feeling. I thought oh no, what have I done? After it was all done it all looks basically the same and it's so bright now.
Thanks so much for the comments on my anniversary post yesterday.
Let's get this party started!

Thanks for hosting Kim! Wishing a speedy recovery for your mom!
ReplyDeleteHope your mom is doing well. The paint is looking great!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that your mom's injuries were not worse!....I am sure you are anxious to have the painting job done so you can put all your pretties back to see the room with it's new "coat" Yes, the light sure does play tricks on the color of the walls. My bathroom ceiling is being repainted now and I always have the color on the ceiling 50% lighter than the walls. It seems to work...Enjoy your new color....thanks for hosting...and yes, hope you didn't catch a bug!
ReplyDeleteChoosing paint is such a gut-wrenching experience sometimes. No matter how careful you are, you can't tell until it's all done, and the phases in between can be a bit alarming. It looks fabulous! I think it will be lighter and airier than the previous colour, (though the previous colour was also lovely). Still, always great to change things up!
ReplyDeleteI am very interested to know about your new paint colour. Thank you for hosting again this week.
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope your mom is going to be okay. The paint color looks great. Thank you for hosting.
ReplyDeleteOh no Kim! I hate to hear your mama fell. I hope she gets to doing better soon and I also hope that y'all do not catch the bug. It is something awful out here and I knock on wood everyday that my men do not bring it home. The kids are dropping like flies at school though.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like a fresh coat of paint to make everything feel wonderful again! Your room will be gorgeous - I don't think you make many paint mistakes, Kim.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I hope your mom is doing well...

ReplyDeleteThe new paint color looks beautiful! Hope your Mom will be feeling better soon and glad it wasn't more serious. I hope I don't have to step into any emergency room, drs office or hospital anytime soon as the flu in central VA is very bad too.
I'm so glad your mom was able to go home and can't wait to see your newly-painted walls with everything back in it's place.
