Today we're going in the farmhouse style guest bedroom that I dressed in pink and gray for spring. I ordered the gray duvet cover and shams right after Christmas and put them away until I was ready to use them. I finally got around to putting this room together a couple of weeks ago. With all the running to visit my mom it didn't leave much time to work on this room plus my creativity wasn't all there. Now, she is finally doing better and the mood struck to finish this room. I fell in love with this gray bedding while visiting Pottery Barn last year. When it went on sale I ordered it. After it sat here for awhile I had to decide what color I wanted to use with it and I love pink with gray so that was the direction I went in.
Please overlook the wrinkles on the duvet cover. I had ordered a nice steamer and when it came parts were missing so back it went. Now, I'm waiting on another one, but wanted to share this room wrinkles and all. I wasn't about to take the duvet cover off and iron it. It's a workout just getting it on.
I already had the two blush colored pillows and I just needed an extra pillow to tie all the colors together. I lucked up on this colorful velvet pillow at HomeGoods.
I love the details on the shams and duvet cover.
I needed a pink coverlet, but didn't want to spend a lot on it. I found this pink quilt at the same time I found the pillow. This pink paisly quilt was only $19!! It's actually a king size and fits this queen bed just fine.
I also picked up this little pink planter with succulents at HomeGoods.
Pink flowers are tucked in a blue and white jar on this nightstand.
A lightweight throw with tassels is ready for those times it might be a bit chilly along with some reading material all tucked in a vintage fruit picking bucket.
I saw these soft pink roses at the grocery store and brought them home.
I was on the hunt for a pillow for this chair to tie in all the colors around the room and this one is perfect. It has the blue like the armoire and the gray, blush and pink.
The other thing I changed out was the drapes. I took down the gray checked ones you can see HERE since the ivory checks were very yellow looking with this new look. I just used a pair of white panels I had saved. Such an easy way to change the look in a room.
So for now the room is pink and gray, but of course you know I'm concocting the next look in my mind. 😀
Have a fabulous week!

I'm loving the pink with the gray Kim. The new duvet is so pretty, wrinkles and all. ;) So glad to hear that your mom is feeling better.

I just love it, Kim. That is the colors of my granddaughter's bedroom in their "new to them" home.
ReplyDeleteI never think of you as being a "pink" person but you have blended it beautifully.
Have a great week, Kimmers! xo Diana
I love this new look for spring and I love the color combo of pink and gray. You are a master at styling bedrooms and beds! This really has a fresh modern farmhouse look! I love the nightstand and the armoire. Is this the one you painted in duck egg blue? Love it all Kim! Prayers for your mom.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandy. The armoire is layers of colors. I have never used duck egg blue.

ReplyDeleteBeautifully done!
ReplyDeleteI love the pink and gray combination. Also I love the headboard wall. Is that actually boarding or wallpaper that looks like the real thing?
ReplyDeleteIt is removable wallpaper.
DeleteLooks great!....love the new gray bedding and the pink quilt is a beautiful color with the gray...Glad that your mom is doing better!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Gray and Pink might be my favorite color combo. This room is so beautiful with all the little details you added. I picked up on your comment about it being such a workout to get the duvet cover on the bed. Found a great way to do it on You Tube. It is called the burrito method and it is so simple. I used to hate changing mine but this is so easy, I don't mind it at all now.

What a gorgeous gray and pink bedroom and your photos are always delicious. I'm glad to see pink coming back in fabrics and home decor; I like the softness it gives a room when done right. Needless to say, I always enjoy your posts! Have a good week, Cheryl
ReplyDeleteI just love this! I already have a grey & white duvet cover that I've used with mainly darker grey accessories for the winter. However, I've been thinking about what to do for the warmer weather. I'm definitely adding the pink the way that you did & Euro shams to change it up a bit! Great suggestions! I can't wait to get started! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! Pink and gray is one of my favorite combinations and it looks very elegant and restful in your guest bedroom.
