I'm excited to reveal the new brass bed in the master bedroom. The white tufted upholstered bed was fine, but let me tell you it was a dust catcher. I would have to climb up on the bed about once a month and vaccuum all the dust off of it. I couldn't imagine breathing that in while we sleep and as we grow older I don't want to have to keep climbing up on the bed to clean it. So out with the dusty headboard and in with the new brass and iron bed that I have wanted for several years.
I used the bedding I already had on hand and added the blue quilt and of course the new bed had to have a special new pillow so I ordered the lumbar velvet and silk pillow from Bella Nolte. It looks bluer in these shots than it is and the color is eucalyptus.
I can display the velvet side which is very on trend this year or flip it over to the silk side.
It has a sweet little ruffle all the way around and goes so well with the striped pillows I already had.
I love the silk side with the ties.
I love how the bed was made to look old and they make these when you purchase it. This one took about a month.
I ordered a longer linen bed skirt, too. This bed sits higher so the other skirt was too short.
I found this sedum plant in a cute metal planter at Fresh Market. Perfect colors with the bedding.
I told y'all in the fall great room post {HERE} that I swapped the plaid chair and this chair and it's perfect.
A cozy throw is ready to grab for those cooler days if they ever get here. Longest summer on record I believe.
The room was quite dark when I took this, but thank goodness for camera settings and photo editing.
I'm so happy with the new bed and I love that it sits higher than the old one.
Here's to a good week even though it may be a wet one when the tropical storm arrives.

Kim, I love the new bed, it is dressed so pretty with the new pillow. I have an iron bed and have loved it for years. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous!! The colors go so well with each other.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteYour new bed is lovely Kim. I have a similar headboard to your older one. I usually clean it with one of those lint rollers once a week. LOVE the new blue velvet and silk pillow.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful !!!!!
ReplyDeleteStunning! It reminds me of one my sister had that was an antique.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You do an amazing job coordinating fabrics and colors. Is the quilt color Porcelain Blue from PB? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYes, Barbara it is. Thank you!
DeleteOh. My. Gosh. LOVE that bed!!! What a difference -- so airy and light. Those are heirloom quality beds too, so I'm sure this one will age into a nice antique. So beautiful:-)
ReplyDeleteIt is so pretty and your room is gorgeous. Love it
ReplyDeleteIt all looks amazing!....The bedding is so beautiful and perfectly coordinated...Glad you finally got the bed you always wanted!
ReplyDeleteYour bed is beautiful. Would you consider sharing the source for your dust ruffle? I need a 26 inch drop and don't know where to start the search for such.
ReplyDeleteI ordered from this Etsy shop.

Beautiful room. Excellent taste.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteYour new bed is gorgeous and I love the patina! Having a upholstered linen bed, I understand exactly what you where saying about dust build-up on the fabric. I have to vacuum frequently but since I went the opposite direction as you ( I traded our iron bed for an upholstered) I wont be trading again any time soon! ha
Absolutely gorgeous, Kim! I love the scrolly chippy look of the iron bed.
ReplyDeleteBella Nolte linens are my dream! I have two shams that I LOVE, and it is my dream to have the whole bed done in Bella Nolte linens. Your bedroom is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteKim it is beautiful! Love the muted colors! Nancy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the bed. Fits so much better with your French Country style. That chair works perfectly in the master! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! Love your style.and taste, Kim.💙
ReplyDeleteKim-the "old" bed is beautiful!! What a great choice for the room. Love your new pillow, too, and that chair works beautifully. The room looks bright and airy to me and very welcoming. Good job, Kim! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Is your bed skirt the natural linen color or the creamy off white
ReplyDeleteNatural. :)
DeleteLove the new bed and pillows, Kim! As always, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love everything! You do an amazing job of decorating! I have searched but can’t find the answer, where is the bed from?
ReplyDeleteKarlee, it's from Charles P Rogers website and you find them at some furniture stores.
DeleteLove your new bed, Kim! I have an iron bed (10 years old but made in vintage style) but I like the patina on yours so much more. I may just have to paint mine to look older like yours. Thanks for sharing your master bedroom with us.
ReplyDeleteLove your new brass bed! The room looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteKim it is all gorgeous. YOU really know how to dress your beautiful bed. I love this room. Are the ruffled shams from PB also. I love the way they go with the duvet. I can't find them.
ReplyDeleteNo, they are actually complete pillows I bought last year at a home store. Thank you!
DeleteCan you please tell me where you purchased the duvet and shams
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always
Thank you
Duvet and matching shams are from Pottery Barn. Thanks
