Fall Foyer and Sitting Room Tour

10.14.2019

Today I'm sharing the fall foyer and sitting room tour. I don't add a lot of fall cutsie decor in the main living area of the house. I like to keep it simple and just change up the pillows and add some items found in nature.

I took some shots from different angles than I normally share.

After visiting the sunflower farm and purchasing these large sunflower heads I placed them in this wooden bowl and added them on top of the chest, but after a couple of days these things started smelling pretty bad. I forgot how stinky sunflowers can get. So I left the squirrel on top of the books and put my candlesticks back.

This is the first fall in the sitting room with the new light colored sofa.

To warm it up I added some colorful velvet pillows. I'm so glad I don't have to work with the dark brown sofa any more.

The tassels you see hangin behind the bench is a throw I have placed on the sofa to keep it clean since Miss Bailey likes to lie there in the sun.

I created this super simple fall vignette using things I had on hand. I love how the sun comes in early in the morning creating these shadows.

I love adding this aubusson pillow this time of year. The funny story that goes with this pillow is that my sister had this pillow and put in in a consignment shop to sell and I came along and bought it not knowing it was the one she had. 😏

The lavender has been replaced with dried hydrangeas from my bushes in the French harvest basket.

The sun fills this space with warmth each morning unless it's cloudy. I took this before changing out the lavender in the basket.

I want to say thank you so much to all of you who commented on my last post. It's nice to know there aren't just crickets out there.

Have a fabulous week!

Before I get questions asking where items can be found. Everything in this room is older or antiques that have been collected over the years. The only new things still available is the sofa and the pillows on the sofa which are all from Pottery Barn.
Post Edit: the printed pillows on the sofa must be sold out as they are not on the site.

    1. Yes, I sure do. I have collected them and you will find them in English and French homes. Even on Downton Abbey :)

Do you ever think of changing your front door and sidelights? Lookin' good.

  9. Everything looks lovely as always! We agree on staying away from the cutesy in the living areas. I add a bit outside if we are going to participate in Halloween but usually at the last minute! Your French harvest basket is so beautiful with both the lavender and the new addition of the dried hydrangeas...my favorites. Everything looks cozy and warm exactly like it should!

  15. Sorry, forgot to ask if the sofa is a bench seat? Do any of you out there have bench seats? Do they sag at the end u most use? Do u have to keep moving down the sofa each time? Lol!

    1. Yes it is the bench seat. Ours is not sat on much, but it shouldn't sag.

  19. Kim...This morning I was looking for a print on "icanvas" and ran across the cow prints. I remembered the one you have in your bedroom. I actually liked 3...Christmas on the farm 111, Yuletide cow 11, and Holiday crazy cow. I wasn't looking for cows and can't believe I will have one hanging in my guest room...but...I ordered Holiday Crazy Cow. Thanks for the inspiration.

  20. Kim...lovely view of your foyer! It's interesting that entryway
Rug is small, I have found ones a bit larger work better when
guest arrive, especially in inclement weather. Have you always
    Opted for smaller?

    1. It's just a cheap little rug and works fine for us. I rarely have guests so it's just me and Bailey using that door.
