The Southern Living Idea House Amelia Island

11.13.2019

Hello! I'm back from a whirlwind trip and I'm drowning in laundry at the time I'm writing this.
Mr. Savvy and I went to Amelia Island, Fl. where he attended a conference at the Ritz Carlton. We have stayed there for other conferences in the past, but not since 2008 and it was nice to stay there again. We had two nights there and then it was on to the next stop, but on our way out we went to the Southern Living Idea House 2019 which was absolutely gorgeous, casually elegant and my style.
It was decorated by Heather Chadduck.

We were the first ones to arrive which was nice because I could take pictures without waiting for people to move. I grabbed this first shot right after we parked.

As we got closer I grabbed some shots of the details outside. Love the driveway of pavers.

First thing you see inside is the living room decorated in fabulous blues, neutrals and pattern.

A favorite is this gallery wall and the unique way it is hung.

You can see how this room opens right up to the outside.

From the living room you turn right and go to the master suite.

Before you get there the powder room is on the right.

Then you go in the master and see this pretty bed.

I loved how cozy this bed felt with the canopy and the light hanging up above.

This is the pretty sitting area in the master.

I love the master bath!

The tub is the prettiest green on the outside and the vanity cabinets were a sagey color.

Loved the wallpaper, too, but hubby not so much.

I sort of liked the black grid shower doors, but they would be a pain to keep clean.

The views are great from every room and I wanted that demijohn on the table. Love the unique shape.

I have lots more to share as this house was large with lots of rooms especially bedrooms.
This house is way out of our budget, but it's fun to get some new ideas.

Enjoy the rest of the week!

  1. Its super sophisticated. I love the fabric on the chairs in the master sitting area, I would love to use that in my own home.

  3. We actually have the same grid in our shower. It is not hard to clean because the grid itself is only on the outside. The side facing the shower is just glass. I love Amelia Island. We stay at the Omni Plantation every other summer.

  5. Amelia Island is such a romantic place. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton also and loved every minute of our time there! Thanks for sharing the house. I saw it in the magazine but your pictures make it seem more “real.”
