Christmas Sun Room with Traditional Red Accents

12.15.2019

Oh, my we are getting so close to Christmas! Are you ready? I'm getting there. Shopping is finished, cookies are being made today and I need to wrap presents. The house has been decorated for weeks, but I'm a tweaker all the way up to the big day. Please tell me I'm not alone.

Today we're touring the sun room. This is my room where I work and watch television. I made it bright and cheery this year with bits and bobbles of red.

Welcome to my Christmas Sun Room with Traditional Red Accents.

Last year I used this flocked tree in a basket on the trunk that used to be at the end of the sofa.
You can see that here.

Of course I had to add a cute Christmas pillow. I used this pillow the first time in the great room.

My wicker deer stands guard on the gifts by the tree.

He adorned the top of the hutch in the dining room last year. I like to use the same things in different ways each year.

This is my favorite snow man that I found at Tuesday Morning store a few years ago.

I decided to move this French table from the middle of the kitchen to this corner. It fits perfectly and leaves us more room to move around in the kitchen. Changes will be coming to the kitchen early next year.

Neutral pillows were swapped out for the red and plaid ones and the doughbowl holds lots of leftover ornaments.

This is a poinsettia from an arrangement that was sent after my mom's passing.

I love Santas and have been collecting them. I gathered these colorful ones together on this tray.

I hope you enjoyed the tour and here's to a new week!

Are you ready for Christmas and just sitting back and waiting or still running around trying to get it all done?

Hope you'll check out some past Christmas sun rooms below.

    1. I bought it several years ago in a local lighting store, but I have seen it on line, too in different sizes and finishes. Just google French style chandeliers.

  8. This room says Merry Christmas all over! Beautiful! I love the rug!!! The Santas on the tray is a wonderful way to display without taking up too much room. I'm going to give this a try with some nutcrackers I inherited from my dad.
You are WAY ahead of me on being ready for Christmas! Yikes!
    Have a blessed week!

  9. Oh Kim, just lovely as usual.....but I was so looking forward to seeing the antique people made from wood carved I think, you use to put them in your entry. I checked past post and can’t find them.

    1. They aren't antiques and they are carolers made of resin. They are displayed in the sitting room this year.

  13. Beautiful! It's fun seeing pops of red in your house again, since you phased them out a few years ago. I love neutral decor - that's what I decorate with myself - but there's something about red at Christmas. I enjoyed looking at your sun room decor from previous holidays too. I especially liked those striped pillows from 2017! Off I go to hunt down some similar ones. Thank you for the lovely inspiration!
